Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Will have to try it. :)

Just got done supervising painting with the boys. They had a blast with poster paints and coloring pages of tractors, trucks, trains, & construction vehicles.

Priceless !!!

Just got done baking 6 pie pumpkins but to tired to make the pies tonight !!! Thanks Vicky for the recipe and pumpkin roasting tips. Got tons of seeds from them. Now have to decide what to do with them.
Roast for Us humans?
Roast for my Parrots and Chickens?
Dry them for the Parrots and Chickens?
Or Dry them and save the seeds for planting. I know they may not breed true but I don't really care what kind of pumpkins I get, I just want tons of pumpkins next year.

Nice looking kittys. I've heard of Ragdoll cats but have never seen one. Can I ask why they are so expensive ??? I love the black and white ones.

I had a post earlier with pictures but while i was trying to upload more pictures the whole thing vanished !!!! Must not have been that important, for the life of me now I don't remember what I posted !!! Geez LOL.
TO how's the Turtles eye doing? I forgot to suggest using Teryaminacin ointment. Fleet Farm carries it at times. The vet told me to put it in my kittens eyes but their office was out of it because it is on back order and unavailable at times. I checked Jeffers and it was out of stock there as well. So just an FYI everyone, if you see it in the stores or online you may want to pick up a tube. Between $10 and $15. Better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it !!!

I know Unk, they're not all bad !!! Are you one ???? lol Seems like these two families are out to get each other though. I hope someday no one gets hurt. I prefer to just stay neutral and not get involved. Like I said they put the guts in the road to just rub it in to the neighbors that they got deer !!! Childish if you ask me but who really cares.
Just heard from another neighbor that their group has 16 deer hung up at the bar. Guess they just do drives and then they share whatever is gotten. No one goes without. That's fair, makes everyone happy.
Then heard that one of the other neighbors got another buck, most likely off of his back porch. Some big hunter !!!

Just like he shot a bear off of his porch, or i should say he shot from his porch. Poor animals don't stand a chance when they bait all year long.

Ok, now that I'm rattling and can't remember $h!t I'm going to go to bed. Night all !!

Oh here is something I forgot to post. Here is an email from someone on a pig group I belong to. Thought I would share. Sound delish and easy...

I recently went to a wedding and they served Raspberry glazed Carrots.
They were good. So I wanted to make them myself and let me tell ya they
were the best carrots I have ever eaten. So simple it is almost sinful.

I took a bag of baby carrots and boiled them (steamed would be better)
drained them sat to the side. In a skillet I put tablespoons of butter and then added two
large tablespoons(not the measuring kind the serving kind) of raspberry
perserves, a pinch of salt a pinch of pepper and a pinch of ginger( I think
nutmeg would be good in lieu of the ginger or maybe both) let it all melt
and come to a nice easy boil then added the carrots. Lowered the heat
and let them continue to cook about five minutes. Poured in a bowl
and served. They were absolutely the favorite thing I ate.

I was just so proud of how they turned out I wanted to share.

good snowy morning, We have about an inch on the ground. I was hoping it would wait until December, so we only had 4 months of snow on the ground but oh well. The chows love it and it makes it look like the Christmas season

Snoozerooster, I sent you a pm
Hurley - great picture, you should enter it in a contest
Jim, I have seen your pens, great job, want to build me a camoflauge coop so I can keep more chickens

have a good day everyone.

Mornin',

Well the kittens, best any of us can remember, should be about 6 weeks old or so. Of course, you just kinda know when they're ready to go...another week or so prolly. They are so expensive just like any other purebreed if you google aroung like I did. The problem was, I saw this kitten picture they had taken looking up at a starry sky backdrop. It struck me as a beautiful picture and perfect kitten. Also, the gray was very light/non existent when they're kittens. Either way, I had a moment and bought her for my daughter a few years ago. She's a great cat though.

Wow, I just looked up the "Ragdoll" cat breed. Very interesting, beautiful cats. I will keep my mutt barnstock though, they blend with the rest of the mixes at the house.

S-L-O-W-L-Y waking up. I guess I was trying to make up for all the sleep I missed out on the last few days! I suppose at some point I have to get some Christmas shopping done.

Time for coffee......

Good morning! Sitting with my cuppa...

That's about how I feel too. Couldnt sleep at all last night...no idea why. Of course I fell asleep really hard about 5 or so. Called my friend at 9 and she said she needed a half hour before we could leave for Madison to shop...yeah I told her I need until noon! LOL!
So that's the plan for today...burning the day up in the stores. Mostly window shopping for me--maybe pick up a few gifts for the kids--maybe not. DH is on a cleaning spree (his style) so I'd rather not be here at any rate...he likes to pick stuff up and carry it out to the barn. Yesterday he took my stack of egg cartons out there along with the food for my inside birds! But stuff that is never used is left here in the house.

Yes this is how I feel. (no kidding!)

So, a nice blue sky today...still chilly though! Last night about 10 when I locked up it was the warmest it had been all day! 23* Dont know what it is now but at least the sun is shining--makes even a cold day feel better for sure.

I agree with the rest ODrH--that picture is excellent! Did you plan it that way or was it an "accident"? My brother is really into photography too--he has a whole portrait set up in his basement and did family shots at Thanksgiving. Here is one that my Dad got on his camera while we were getting ready:

Goofy people!

Well I guess I am heading to get dressed...chores need to get done! I hope I drained the hose sufficiently yesterday!
Have a great day everyone! TerriOlazyonasundaymorning

Morning all!
Not much to report here! Same old same old!! Nothing exciting at any rate!
Oh, well, there was a small amount of excitement. Yesterday I had Fred and Sax out in the yard and heard a boat load of barking. Turns out two labs where "visiting". Not having seen these guys before I thought that maybe a hunter was out and a about and the dogs decided to take a break. I caught one, Remi is is name. and his partner in crime ran off for home. So I drove Remi back to his house. Turns out they live across the park form me! I got to meet their Mom and turns out their family has chickens. So,naturally, I did my civic duty and told her to come here and stop buy. She has been on BYC but not to the Cheesehead thread. They are new chicken owners and have 4 PR.s and some Red Rangers. Her hens are very cute and that was the first time I got to see the Red Rangers "in the feather" so to speak!

Hurley-"Technically" light for hens goes by lumins (sp? lumans.....lumens...) Yeah..those! Anywho, the lumin count is the important factor that the egg houses look at. The reason I know this is because DH was helping an Amish egg rancher/farmer and he used gas lamps and was having trouble with lighting. They found out that the lamps needed different lights because they did not give off enough lumins..I will have to ask DH what the count is. But regardless, I don't think most "normal" people care about the lumin count and really as long as your extending the amount of hours of light that the Girls are exposed to you'll get more eggs. On average they need 14 hours of light per day for good egg production. I like the sun lamps because my girls don't get to free range to soak up sun and where there coop and run is in the winter the get really limited sun exposure. Plus I have rabbits in the coop during the winter and figure they need the sun lamps too.
Realistically any type light will do LED, Sun/grow lamps, florescent, regular old bulbs.

DrH-Congrats on the new kittens!!!!! They are adorable!!!

SnoozRoo-sent you a PM too!

Well, best be off...need to do some laundry.....DH told me a quote the other day that makes me feel better about the futility of trying to keep the house super clean:
"Trying to keep a house clean while living with dogs is like trying to brush you teeth while eating an Oreo."

Later all
