Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Oh my gosh, I just finished my cyber Monday shopping..... OUCH! Teenagers are EXPENSIVE!

Attempting to get the Christmas lights up. My back is still killing me, I am SO grateful I have a massage tomorrow.... Popped in for dinner and then back outside I go!

I cannot believe how dark it is outside already! Only 6 and it feels like it is 8 or 9....

..

I have two, I feel your pain, I miss the days of going to Fleet farm's toyland and having a field day picking out tons of toys for the price of one teenage toy. My eldest needs new tires for his car. Squealed his tires too much, I think I am going to let him pay for them himself, hopefully he will figure out tires are expensive and we are supposed to try to make them last, not leave rubber wherever we go.

Good evening--
David--here I thought you were talking bike tires when you talked about skids a while back! SHame on him! There are a group of kids around here that have been making a lot of marks on the roads...I bet they are wishing for new tires for Christmas too!

Just finished with dinner...OMG sooooo delicious! When I was at World Market on SUnday I picked up some Satay sauce (Tiger Tiger Indonesian Satay) and I made it with sweet potatoes, apricots, Lamb and tomatoes. YUM! Green onion, cilantro and lime juice for garnish. I ate way too much! Served it over Jasmine rice. I wish I would have had some peanuts or other crunchies to serve along with it too. Oh, I am FULL!

BigFam--my ducks dont go in. There are a few that will go in the coop but the majority stay outside until the weather is way below zero. Even the calls are not going inside any more! As soon as they found out that they could fly out of the pen that was it! The muskovies that are barely feathered stay out too...they must have warm blood!

BL4 is that a Creamy Pecan Pie that you pictured? It looks very much like mine! (I crowd the pecans closer on the top though!) I have had the same statements that they look like so many beetles at a convention!

Good luck with those kittens DrH! Did you introduce them to Taz or just throw them in the house? I have found that if you pay way more attention to the old one it goes a bit better...

Someone else asked me a question also...CRS--I guess you will have to ask again! LOL!

OK time to go out into the "frozen tundra" and close up! 12 tonight...BBBRRRRRR! Then I think I heard that it was going to warm up? Crazy weather for sure! We had flurries again today...nothing stuck though!
Good night--TerriOlisteningtokidsfightingaboutwhowillputdishesawaytonight

I feel your pain David (but I would be the 'mean' parent and have the kid pay for the tires too, they need to learn responsibility and that tires are not cheap...). I have kids that are 10,13,15,and 17. They all want computers, Apple products, DS games, blah blah blah...... I remember when I used to get my Christmas shopping for everyone finished before October was over!

One more sting of lights to get up and then I will be finished (I hope) all I need to do is the front porch, but that requires a ladder to get the peak so DH has to help. Right now he is out in the garage getting the tractor put back together. I am really annoyed with myself, I thought I needed a new set of lights for the fence so I bought a string...... and then found the one I bought on clearance last year.

Of course I can't find the receipt either.

Trying to warm up..... I think a Hot Toddy would be REALLY nice right now.....

TO, that is a regular pecan pie before baking. I do have a pic of the finished product, but I can't upload it here. The photo is too big.

If you are sure the preds won't get the ducks, they do not have to go inside because of the weather.. However, Muscovy ducks tend to freeze their feet off.. Other ducks, and geese, pull their feet up into their down.. muscovys do not.. they leave their feet flat on the ground (ice) and just lay on top of them.. muscovys come from way down south, so they never learned that neat trick..

I drove over and looked at my tractor today.. then I headed south to Edgar and had breakfast at the "corner" ..Then I drove into Wausau and killed most of the rest of the day..

What type of waterer is it? We may have them on hand at my work. I could send one to you.
Does anyone have COTTON PATCH GEESE to sell? Or expecting to have goslings in the spring?
Uhh, the one with the red base and opaque white body, 5gal. I know the opening is 4 inches. DH found some rings at menards today, but I don't know if they're going to work, they're for water filtering systems. I need to get to Fleet this week, if I don't find them there I may take you up on that. AND if you ever get Cotton Patch geese, I'll take you up on those too!
Quote: Hmm, try making it into a thumbnail. I use EasyThumbnails or the resize tool on PicMonkey.

this is for you who are interested in the plucker that I built.. this is the sprocket assembly I built to reduce the motor speed from 1725 rpm down to 190 rpm at the plucker plate.. no chains are installed yet..
this is how I mounted the motor,, I use the nuts on the threaded rod to adjust the tension..

this is with the chains installed.. those shafts are one inch dia.. the shafts and bearing blocks I salvaged from a junk yard for $20.oo..

I sure do feel bad for my duckies. I have 3 Australian Spotted, 1 Muscovy, and 1 Cayuga/ buff mix. They seem a bit chilly out there...

Jim... I don't think I've ever heard you mention having ducks. Am I crazy, or do you have some?
