Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

BigFam I am glad you were brave enough to get the child tested. Something my wife and I remind each other often is No matter the labels that are put on our kids, They are the same kids we love and cherish.

Shelf life I believe is a year to year and a half, when I've ordered it. Refrigerated, of course.

Not sure if they're continuing it or not, but they sent me a letter this year extending my certification to 2016, so that's pretty sweet. Don't have to recert after 2 years, like before.

I'll probably split the bottle up into 100 dose aliquots for people to get cheaper. It's $125 if you order a whole bottle, gets kind of steep.

Anyway, if you guys do want some, I can make a portion of the bottle available as I won't use use up 1000 in a year.
That would be great! I'll be sure to contact you once I know for sure about getting certified.
Thanks!

Good Morning,

Just gave the chickens the other half of the 'omelet' from yesterday plus scratch/grains.

Yea, thanks Josh, I ran out of my hodge-podge vegetable soup (which turned out rather good) and decided to go get some drive through....and you go postin' delicious lookin' gourmet....

Wow Jim, that was a late/early post...were you out riding Ollie in circles til you finally had to go in? I can see you doing that at the end of one of those "happier than" commercials, lol.

CS- when we look for a house we also try the 'for sale by owner' website(s) and I notice one for people trading their properties also....figure it's better to say something you may already know then keep it to myself. Also, Llama or Alpaca is delicacy in the other Americas....if it doesn't work out, otherwise I don't want to be anywhere near the area that has predators which require 10 300-500#(?) animals to defend. Sounds kinda squatchy.

DrH- I think today's list will be which football games to watch, take a rest day.

Later all.

Morning all...been crazy busy here. The new chimney is finally going up with 2 liners inside! YEAH we can burn wood again. I have much more to say but I am 80 posts behind and I like to catch up first!

I will say that I had a fantastiv time visiting with Vicki at her place when I went to pick up the meaties! She and her DH are sweethearts for sure and will blend in nicely with our family here. She made GF potato/chicken soup for lunch and it was yummy....lots of coffee and talking later we got the birdies loaded up.

Gotta run again--the chimney cap has arrived...back later while you all are NOT posting any more and wasting your time watching football! LOL! TerriOheadingoutintotheSNOW!

Was out giving the chickens their morning treats and heard my young rooster crowing. Pretty sure it was the Wheaten Marans. They sound so funny when they first start up, like teenagers with their voice cracking! lol

I keep looking for a first egg from this blue orp. She's gotten her red color in and she's already bigger than my 1 1/2 yr old buffs.

Here's a nice fluffy butt line up! From the left we have a Penendeseca, Buff orp and the blue orp.

Went out and did a final pick up around the yard. Still had some garden flower things to put away before the snow starts to pile up. Haven't gotten much here yet.

It's snowing by you Terri? Still rain here, thankfully.

Congrats on the new chimney. That will be nice for sure.

Try sleeping with 6 of em, DrH. And they all pile on me cuz DH flops around like a fish all night long.

Except the ancient one. When it gets really cold out, he insists on sleeping between DHs legs all night. How that cat manages to stay put when he rolls from his one side to the other is beyond me.

Back to the laundry. Yippee.

Sleet here. Picked a GREAT day to test the flock. Brrr.

Got the first coop tested, all negatives (woot). Now gotta go round up the other ones. The first batch were all nice and dry in the building. Don't know that I'll be so lucky with the second batch!

Can I convince it to start snowing here for about an hour so I don't get soaked?

good morning.,, maybe I should submit that to the commercial dept.. "how happy ? as happy as DrH, Unka Dan , Jim etc etc riding on his tractor.."

I was out playing cards last night, hence the late hour..

Yesterday I was going to be nice and transfer the cluck and her young uns to the warmer brooder pen in the lean to.. she would not let me catch her.. then she escaped through the partially open door.. I guess she spent the night under the deck.. I don't think I will keep her around,,she is too wild.. I don't want that mind set to spread..

I just read up the fine tuning of a tractor carb.. Ollie runs good, but not as smooth as it did before the overhaul..

did I mention that Roy put an inline fuel pump on ? it enhances the fuel flow a little better that gravity flow..

the fuel line has no room for any more inline anything.. I have the pump, filter and shut-off valve..
I eliminated the sediment bulb altogether..

Now I wish I had a heated garage.. I have to put the rest of the sheet metal on and then mount the hydraulic pump.. It is not snowing here,, yet,,, but I don't think I will be ready for it when it does get here..

Autism, Not a death sentence.. just try to refrain from the "medicines" if you can ..
My grandson was "diagnosed" with A.D.D. they had him on meds so bad that he was just a Zombie .. The teachers in his grade school were great proponents of the drugs.. He couldn't even stay awake in school.. We took him over to live with us for 6 years.. the first thing we did was to take all the meds away.. the second thing was to switch schools... He eventually graduated from high school very high in his class..
just saying..

I guess I should put on some long Johns and see what damage I can do to Ollie before the game starts..

SNOWY Morning all!!!
WHOOO YHOOOO!!! It's snowing !!! Finnnnnnally....

So I opened up the coop door so the Girls could go out into their run...There was a mass stampede to get out...then The BR slammed on her breaks because there is White Stuff on the ground...unfortunately for her, she go slammed from behind and was forced outside. She turned around so fast a hawk would have been proud. The rest of the Girls ran father back into the coop. I guess it will be an inside day for them....

CS-Honestly if you get the llamas and alpacas sell them. Llama's are not that nice especially if they are not handled. Alpacas can go either way. They tend to be a little nicer. The problem is that 1)They need to be sheared, preferably by someone who know how to shear them and they need regular hoof care. 2) They need a high quality specialized feed fir fiber producation.3) They can no longer be imported. This may be be good thing if the critters in question have a good/excellent fiber quality. If they have poor fiber quality then you won't be able to sell them easily. Plus this is a bad thing in someways since the genes that are here have been around for a while with no new "blood" being introduced into the North American gene pool.
4) A sick llama or alpaca can end up dead pretty easily. 5) You need a vet in the area who knows about them to treat then correctly. 6) They spit. 7) they are very intelligent and can use their smarts against you very well.
I used to work at a vet clinic that treated everything except bats and something else. Needless to say we saw alpacas and llamas both. I actually had to help on those farm calls. Never in a million years would I have either one. I'f you do end up with the house with them, find out why the people don't want them. Plus you would need to find an outlet for their fiber. Not sure if there is a market for it much.

Well, was going to say more but gotta get myself going....DH is getting 6 PR chicks for the video he is doing. I need to set up the brooder....Ugh! I so don't want to brood chicks. Thankfully I think they chicks have a home when he's done with them....Guess I need to go get a bag of chick feed....ugh....ugh...ugh...

MLH- thanks for the info! We actually met the llamas and alpacas and they all seemed nice. They came to the fence for us to pet, but that's all we know. I do know that they are very edible and supposedly taste like beef. So if nothing else, we'd have dinner in the freezer!
