Lost my stepfather 2 Thanksgivings ago, now. He was such a strong man, was fine, little cough, 4 months later he was gone. Still seems like yesterday. He raised me, couldn't have loved him more, but he'll always be with me and his wisdom will be passed down to my boys. Through us they live forever.

Man, I really need some ducks around here. Definitely need to set some this spring. 
Hey all Adam is home with his new truck will post some pictures tomorrow.....
what a time he had getting that monster in my driveway....least to say my big ole pine is missing a few branches.......LOL I used to think my driveway was huge big turn around with 2 openings one on F and one on the cross road, but no not even close with that 53 ft trailer plus a big truck attached it looks awful small indeed...... he heads out Monday first drop GB a load of paper for paper converting....... then to who knows where for who knows how long........ I hate the not knowing whats going on....... when the X drove for ORT, he always knew where every load for the week would take him at least most of it, and approximately what day he might make it home.........back then I coulda cared less he was a jerk and I was glad when he was gone, used to wish he would never come home......... not the case now, and not knowing is gonna be tough as well.
So anyway the new horsey is out..... having some major bank problems thanks to Kwik trip, I have a 100.00 in bouncers, plus 1 more check out, all because of the wonderful electronic debits, wrote a check out back in OCT. for 37.00, well they cashed it alright for 37 and 3 days later for 31.87 which cost me 50 in October that I could never figure out why I just paid the extra 50. plus 3 thinking my change must be off, well no now it showed up again, and is killing us with over draft fees, cuz I was only 15 dollars short of the first check clearing , but then 25 dollar charge after 25 dollar charge snowballing and now I'm over 150.00 in the red, with a short check this week, plus they made Adam buy almost 400 dollars worth of stuff for his truck, a steering lock, tie downs, tightener bars a GPS, which will come out over the next few pay checks, starting tomorrow........ so I'm totally screwed !!!!!!!!! I need to sell this round pen now!!!!!!!! its worth about 1500, will take 1200............. anyone need a good heavy duty round pen, its the priefert brown one 13 panels, plus the 6x9 ride through gate............ new it would be 2300............... so please everyone ask all your horsey friends........... Its a good deal if ya got some extra money somewhere.............. cuz I doubt Adams check will even cover the overdrafts plus he needs to eat the next 7 to 10 days......... don't know what we are gonna do............ and here I thought things were looking up.

Ok so anyway how to solve this seems simple right get KT to fix there screw up, well the bank won't because it isn't there screw up, call KT yah right KT says they fixed it, the 3187 was the fix.......... not it came out twice, same check number as well, but bank says they won't fix it or stop the overdrafts because KT has too...... so tomorrow I have to go to the bank and fill out paperwork to send to KT to fix there mess, only to wait for ??? how long to get my money back........... months probably while the checks keep coming............ with no money to cover them.......... Just love how ya get screwed 50 times from 1 check by your trusted banker.................. have had this bank since I was 18 years old....... wouldn't ya think my word, the check copy and the statement would be enough to fix this........HELLLLNO gotta have a receipt, who has the reciept Kwik Trip......... OMG I'm gonna scream............. Ok calmed down and will quit venting to all you wonderful people, but times like this I'm so very glad you all are here.............
Going to down a handful of Advil, and go to bed, I have the worst headache in years.......... Night all........
OOPPSSssss forgot to say if anyone on this thread buys the pen ya get a 200.00 dollar discount....so ya pay grand...... Kim

Would like to hatch some to raise up this spring.
Any thoughts on how to create a predator resistant environment where I could allow them free range to the pond? I've got a great pond for ducks, but we've got woods around us so I worry about keeping any for long. My Iowa Blues do well free ranging, but they are much more alert and plucky than the other chicken breeds I've had, who get picked off periodically. That pond is so lovely, looks like a duck haven, but I worry about the nights.
I plan to hatch every Iowa Blue egg I can this spring, so hoping the numbers of the breed will be going up this year.

I have Muscovys and they go in the coop at night. They are out all day. I feed them at night to make sure they return. You can just make a lean two with hard wire on one side and doors on the other. You would have to close them up at night. They would love the water..I love Muscovy meat..
