Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I called our local hardware store this morning about third chick day this Saturday, and asked if it was the same people as last year and they said it was, so I think I will drop in and say hi to mlh and her husband and see how they have been!
Roads are terrible, I was sideways 3 times on the county rd I live on, being one of these "brain dead" boys the mothers are talking about, I thought it was a fun drive! lol

Hi all! Completely unrelated to chickens but I know there are a lot of good home cooks out there. Anyone have any good recipes that use ground beef? I am up to my ears in it, being that we live on a farm, and I am so sick of my same old recipes. Any suggestions?
Everyone is doing well here, and I the chickens are loving the warmer temps. Wish it wasn't snowing again.
I know Delisha uses fermented feed for her chickens, does anyone else?
have a good day everyone

good AM ,

about 4 inches to plow today.. I don't like the threat of freezing rain, though.. maybe I will put off plowing until after the rain..

I put four Little Giants on Craig's list for $75.oo/each.. turners and fans in all of them.. I had one hit so far, but she dropped off after I sent my phone number to her..

I have not gone outside yet..
the two dogs came home with blood all over their faces,, and they dragged home a leg of a deer. I imagine a deer either got hit be a car, or wounded and died during the gun season.. It is funny (strange) that the coyotes haven't cleaned up on it yet..

nothing new happening around here..

did a few sketches of what I want to plant in the garden.. going to reduse the size of it this year.. each year too much goes to waste when I over plant.. I will plant corn aplenty, though.. Annie served up some canned corn from the store one day.. I could not eat it..WTH do they put in those cans,, field corn ??

Funny about the corn Jim. I cannot eat canned corn either. For about 8 yrs now we have been planting about 1-3 acres of sweet corn. We use what we need and sell the rest. Every year we freeze about 25 dozen. Tastes like off the cob. I found a new recipe this last year for corn relish that is so great. Can't wait for spring. Gurney has sent two catalogs so far and I am loving looking through it. Can't wait to start planting.

Good Morning! Lots chicken plans going on, very

I make this alot. It's so much faster than the normal meatloaf recipe and it gets a little crunchy on the edges, which I like. I make the one with BBQ sauce on it. Enjoy!

Sounds like clean up on isle 3 for the dogs. judge we get a 1/4 every year and always have to buy gr round or gr chuck for taco meat and such to conserve the gr beef for burgers and loafin meat. Would love to take some off your hands if we were closer. Going to grow some sweet corn this year would love to get your relish recipe in trade for this. It took me until this year to get this BBQ sauce recipe right for our liking. It's super secret so don't tell anyone! 1- 20 oz bottle of catsup, 1 - 29 oz can of HUNTS tomato sauce, 2 teas. dried mustard, 2 teas black pepper, 10 dashes worchester sauce, 10 drops hot sauce, 2 teas. chili powder, 1 Tbls. vinegar, 1/2 teas. cummin, 1/2 cup brn sugar, 1/2 cup molasses, and a diced med onion. I put garlic powder in it but I put that in just about everything. I slow simmer it for around 3 hours. After years of experimenting this is the one I want on my lips when I die! In fact there's a batch on the stove right now. Having home grown wings for supper. It will taste a bit spicy when you cook it but when you put it on or in what your making it really smooths out! ND love the crunchy edges too! Thanks for all the happy happy! It was pretty weird this morning we could have exchanged the cards we got for each other and other than gender they would have been almost the same. mazo if they are there tell MLH that we're worried! Hope their both alright! Boys start going brain dead around 12, go ahead ask.........

Judge..

Have you made Pasties lately? I can post the recipe if you are interested..easy to make and freeze well. Kids can pick them up and even help make them.

Burger soup

Swiss potato bake...my great great Grandmother lived in the Swiss Mountains and made this often it was like a staple
