Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I moved the Blue Orpington pair into the general laying coop and was delighted that the cockerel got to the business end of fertilizing eggs. First time I witnessed him not falling off. Was a relief. I guess the Easter hatch might be 1/2 Orpington after all. I know the chance of Black Foots *magic* might be still in the eggs. However, so might the Orps.

Ann's birds are doing well. They seem to like the new area I gave them in the garage. They were in a heated shed so for now they have heat. I will taper them off till next week. We have a heat wave coming. Weeks of 40 degrees. The yards should be mud pits after the ducks get done with them.

Their combs are huge.

Just had to share this:
Today's Short Reading from the Bible...

From Genesis:

"And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then He made the earth round... And He laughed and laughed and laughed!

LOL @ laughed and laughed and laughed.

Sorry, so far behind, skimmed most of the posts.

Just got home after a day of traveling about with the kiddos, including a trip to Port to pick up one of the Dickey incubators...and the 5 tray hatcher...

Off to unload the pair. Really honey, I needed the hatcher, too...it was such a good price! Came with all the trays (will need to get chicken egg sized holders, he had pheasants) and both have the 5 gallon autofill humidity tray and reservoir, electronic thermostat and humidity gauge, wafer backups.

edit to add: Unloaded, sitting in the basement waiting for me to play basement tetris to find the perfect spot for them after I disinfect them.

(Awww, my poor little red incubator in the background was used to thinking of itself as the "big incubator".)
