good afternoon..
was a busy morning.. Mom passed away peacefully in her sleep at 6:15 AM.. she was 98..

she had not much quality of life for the past couple of years,, but before that she had a good life..

now I am going to begin reading posts # 41 through 64 ..

Afternoon everone. I'm happy to say I got 8 eggs out of 10 hens today The only ones I'm missing are from 2 silkies. My EE started laying over the weekend and I'm getting a greenish egg from her, kinda looks like a mallard egg but lighter in color and thinner shell. Bout time lol. I'm on day 10 of my hatch and all seems to be going well. Had a few quail eggs go bad but other than that I have 7 duck eggs with embryos, the quail I cant see through the shell so no clue, and I added 2 chick eggs the other day when I had 21 days left. I'm curious to see what the mutts will look like The roosters are a White Silkie and a White Cochin. The eggs came from a Splash Andalusian deffinitly and the other not sure, its brown so it either came from my Barred Rock, White Cochin, or Red chicken. Should be interesting .

Chicken scratch...I had two production reds that laid great for almost 3-4 years. Just retired them....

Jim, our deepest condolences for the loss of your mom. She was a remarkable woman, and you are an equally remarkably son.

You and Annie gave her the best possible care in a loving environment, and that alone is the biggest blessing a parent could ever ask for. As Dan said, you both done good.
