Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good luck Hurley, nice assortment. I'll be setting Cayuga ducks, Jaerhons, a couple Wellie, and some Ameraucana and OE's covered by my Wellie roo.

Hope your chicks stabilize Martini. Good advice from all who chimed in.

Went to Stone Cellar with DH tonight. If you are ever in Appleton and looking for a place to eat, go there. They source pretty much everything from WI, and local farms. I had fish fry, DH had the famous SOB (South of the Border.) Excellent!!! And they brew their own beers, fantastic. I had their homemade root beer which is also awesome. We rolled home.

And and there was another possum in my coop tonight! Arrrrgh. That's the 3rd in about 10 days. There must be a colony somewhere. On the bright side, I'm getting to be a pretty good shot...

my Ameraucanas are now separated, give it a week or two then start gathering eggs,,,,BCMs are on that same time frame
Dan, it usually takes 3 weeks to fully clear any residual sperm from a hens reproductive tract.

Del, my lavs aren't laying yet either. WTH?

Now my eyes are crossing & I'm ready for bed. Nuthin new here, so sweet dreams, all!

Does anyone know- with my first hatch last month, all the eggs layed flat on the mesh and I turned them by hand. This time I am going to leave them in the carton and just tilt the carton side to side instead of hand turning, but I am worried that the top of the eggs will be too close to the element and they will cook on top. Is that something to worry about?

Hey cuties!

Rhonda and Rhoda Morganstern are now at home and receiving visitors in Waupaca! They were very curious about their new digs and had to examine every nook and cranny. They had a bit to eat and drink, too. Went back to check on them after we went out to dinner and they were both still on the floor. Don't know if they're just nervous about the new surroundings or just haven't figured out the roost yet. We'll see how they are in the morning after they've had their oatmeal!

Thanks again for sharing your flock with me! I love them!!
