Real name-Thunderous McDoodles

BYC name (CS)-Fightin' McWoozy (I like this one)
I think your BYC name is Greenie McWoozy, no? I really don't think I'd want any part of any Thunderous McDoodles, though.

Nice job on catching the pheasant, Terri. I bet you could catch a road runner. Beautiful collection of eggs too. Wow! Purdy.

Hi ALl, pretty quiet here today.. everybody must be at B Dam ,,

I cleaned up bator #3 and am warming it up.. I might switch all the eggs from #1 into it and use #1 for goose eggs.. it all depends on which one I can get the highest humidity out of..

the Asian lady brought me 3 doz more eggs to hatch.. I will be setting those,,, about a dozen more guinea and about 7 goose eggs today..

I need to get the temp up one more degree so that I can add water..

we had company until almost 1 AM this morning.. and now my oldest sister said she was coming this afternoon.. ..

It is nice and sunny out, but it is still cold.. so much for global warming, eh? I don't think the polar caps are melting today..

I was trying to help a woman from the incubating thread with her hatch,, but she doesn't communicate.. I have no idea if she is taking my advice or not.. I think that is rude to ask for advice, then get an answer, and then not acknowledge that you received it,, even if you are not going to follow it..

H&R,, you are the only one that I know of who has peafowl.. what kind of advice can you give me for humidity for the eggs ? don't force me to go to the peafowl thread..

.......jimrelaxingandsettingeggs............
Let me check with my friends who have peafowl and get back to you with what they tell me. We have yet to get any eggs.

Peafowl eggs have an average incubation time of 28-30 days. They need 99.5 degrees and 50-60% humidity through the hatch, with 75% humidity at hatch. Lockdown begins at day 25. It is advised that you incubate peafowl eggs on their sides (horizontally instead of upright on a turner) and turn by hand 3+ times a day (always turn an odd number of times so the egg doesnt sit on the same side for 2 nights in a row).

Hope this helps, she wasn't sure so I looked it up for you!

Terri was awesome! You should have seen her dive right in on him! There were several guys trying to get it, too, but she moves too fast for them! I think they were after it to keep it for themselves while Terri found the owner and returned it.

Hi again,, had company ,, and now they have left.. I think that will be it for awhile..

I couldn't keep tabs on the bator #3 while they were here so, I am right about at the same place I was a couple of hours ago..

H&R, thanks for the info on the peahen eggs.. I sort of was leaning toward high humidity anyhow.. I think I mentioned that.. I will treat the peahen eggs similar to the geese eggs..

I made a special tray last year to hold the goose eggs on their sides.. I have it in the bator #3 warming up.. It will hold about 18 goose eggs,, maybe a few more,, I forget ..

Annie just brought me another goose egg.. no guinea eggs today.. they might be hiding them,, my guess is in the dog house.. Annie said she was not going to crawl in there to find out.. If she did, that would make a swell photo, eh ?

You people at the BD swap look cold.. I am glad I wasn't there.

I have the temp up to 100 F.. now I have to figure out which thermostat is controlling it.. I cranked the primary one way up, so the back-up one should be it..

.jimgoingtogofiddlewiththethermostatsforawhile........

ETA: I am not getting peahen eggs yet either,, but I want to be ready when they do start.........

Well finally I can reply! I dont know what was wrong with the site! Now I cant remember what I was going to say cause that CB and C is smelling SO GOOD! OK--I better go and slice the meat (and maybe steal a little--SSHHHH) then we can eat this wonderful concoction!
Perhaps I will have something to say later....hard to say! TErriOyesJimwewerecoldmaybeFREEZING
