they say the camera adds ten lbs. but the clothing we had to wear added 50lbs. to say it was cold is an understatement. It was really nice to meet some of the fellow bird brains today instant friendships where made. Everyone was every bit as nice as i hoped. cant wait to meet a few more of you, especially you creative ones, your a HOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Didnt buy a darn thing today, guess I didn t need anything. Should have got some of those quail. Terrio is it you that has the quail eggs. Maybe I ll give that a try!!

Nice job on catching the pheasant, Terri. I bet you could catch a road runner. Beautiful collection of eggs too. Wow! Purdy.

Terri was awesome! You should have seen her dive right in on him! There were several guys trying to get it, too, but she moves too fast for them! I think they were after it to keep it for themselves while Terri found the owner and returned it.

Terri is awesome, isn't she? She's fast as all heck too when it comes to catching birds. At the last fall bash, Cind's rooster got loose, and Terri had that boy caught in nothing flat. Very impressive!

Yes Zeke I have the quail eggs (among a few of us I think) I too, was kicking myself for not grabbing a few of those jumbo ones. Did you happen to ask the price on them?

Zeke, I always think that people are so much skinnier when I see them in the spring/summer! I sure was wishing I had MORE clothes on...like my coveralls. Maybe I would have been able to spend ore $$ then! I did walk out with a new rabbit. DD27 is fearing that hers was eaten (did I say this before?) so I got another one...and a pigeon trap to modify for my use.
I think I have to go and read a book...all this basketball sh!t is making me crazy!

K guys, hubby got jumbo brown coturnix quail today. They are 3 weeks old. He is now thinking of getting some more! Lol I have seen quite a bit of quail talk here. Were wondering what you all have... hes not sure what he wants yet. He did mention to me he liked the tuxedo coturnix.

Evening everyone. Boy its been a full day. I had our first poultry project meeting today for our 4-H club, at my house. I loved being able to talk chickens without being looked at like I'm nuts lol. The kids got a kick out of how calm my flock is and how easy it is to catch the chickens. Look like I'll be setting some chicken eggs for a friend and her family I got them hooked on the idea of chickens . For our next meeting we'll be discussing embryo development and feather sexing so should be fun. If I get the eggs in before the end of the month they should be hatched for the next meeting. Oh and I have this red mystery chicken that I thought was a sex link, she was found downtown by one of the bars and a neighbor brouht her to me since she knew we had chickens. Well while outside I was informed she may not be a sex link cause the red sex link one of the members family had were smaller and looked different. So I guess she is truly my red mystery hen lol. Other than that, my day was spent cleaning, catching up on laundry, collecting eggs, and cooking corned beed and cabbage mmm mmm mmmmm. Well hope everyone has a nice St. Patricks day.

No Irish dinner here. I would be the only one who ate it. I am not even allowed to cook cabbage when DH is home.

All the chicks are doing well..

I have been updating the bash thread. We cant update the opening comments any more due to the new format; so I will occasionally copy and paste to the last post for updates. Not the ideal way but....THanks for the donation CassieD!
DH is bringing up ice cream. Cant believe I need something sweet after all that food. Maybe it iwll give me the energy to go out and lock up. It is warmer out there now than it was this morning....over 20 anyhow!
