No, he has lots of large breed birds to mingle with. His favs are my 2 buff orps & their 2 mixed breed daughters. I kinda wish I had a girlfriend for him.

DH finally drove out this afternoon at about 1:30! Back to Nebraska for him for the week. I am kinda excited cause I am going to get the barn cleaned while he is away! I have two days that the kids dont some until 3:30...should be able to get it done. About time too...I want to move it before it gets warmer and starts to stink!

Thanks for the compliments on the pens everyone! As you can see in the pic I still have two 16' sections that I am adding to the area behind the building pictured. I am going to have some nice areas I I ever get it done! The ones I showed you actually worked out very easily. I was able to make an inside part for the Buckeyes out of an old chicken tractor I made. It is temporary but workable and predator safe! I cut a hole in the shed into one of the inside pens so now they can go out too! I feel so bad if they have to stay inside all the time! Especially in that shed cause it's so dark!

Unexpected night off tonight...hardly know what to do with myself! I sure wish My friend Peggy still lived down the road...it was a good night for horse riding. Oh well...guess I will hang out with DS...maybe watch "Shameless."

I just heard on John Tesch that 72 is the new 30!

They did some study between our ancestors and such...Oh brother!

I think my "Fast Fish Florentine" might be done...better go and check.

Hi everyone. I was wondering if you could help identify a few chicks I have. They were the extras sent by Cackle and I'm just curious what they are. From looking on their site I think they may be Cornish X but that seems like a weird breed to use as extras. Also if they are Cornish X, are they the ones who get huge fast and need to be butchered right away, and do they need different food?



Also I think this one is a Pheonix or Yokohama ? What do you think? Its tiny, its the smallest chick we have.
