Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Terri O-

Thanks for the warm welcome. Half of the eggs are from my hens and the other half are from my best friend and some from a teacher. And I live near Baldwin which is by Menominee.

I have been following this thread for some time. It seems like alot of you know each other, so I will just introduce myself and say "hello" from the Kettle Moraine area.

Hope you like it here. You're west of me.

Sorry guys the Voice is on. Like that show. Make sure you close up your chickens. I saw a raccoon last night. Don't want him getting any of my babies I picked up.

Hi everyone. I was wondering if you could help identify a few chicks I have. They were the extras sent by Cackle and I'm just curious what they are. From looking on their site I think they may be Cornish X but that seems like a weird breed to use as extras. Also if they are Cornish X, are they the ones who get huge fast and need to be butchered right away, and do they need different food?

Also I think this one is a Pheonix or Yokohama ? What do you think? Its tiny, its the smallest chick we have.
If they are extras, then you can bet they're all roosters. Sorry I can't be of any more help than that.

Heather,

To the person in Eagle(sorry I dont remember your name! CRS=cant remember sh!t)...not too far away from me...and very close to Hurley in Palmyra! Also welcome allentown.

I was going to say something else....oh yeah Aply--those chickes have much too skinny of legs to be Cornish IMHO. They are probably roosters that are sex linked...just for "packing peanuts." I feel sorry for those roos....

good evening, going to answer as I go.. 6 more pages to read,,

I just transferred 23 chicks to the chick TV.. did not dunk a single one into the water, and they are all drinking.. I guess my chicks are smarter than the average ..

actually, if you are prone to dunking,, you do not have to do all 50 or 100.. just do one or two and the rest will learn by example.. IMHO
