Quote: A well thought out anonymous call to the D.O.T. or O.S.H.A should do the trick. I don't have to tell you that there are serious liability issues If ant thing happened while over on hrs. Prolly should mind my own buss. but I m a fellow trucker and there is no excuse for anyone to be treated like that. Hes a professional driver!!!! Sound like a good worker, is there no safety dept?

Zeke, you are exactly right. They think they can get away with this kind of thing because they are a small company, they hire family and so they treat others like garbage.

Ghost; your DH need to report, report, report. Are they still having a terrible time with the turnover rate there? Has he put his 6 mo in yet to work someplace else? Would he consider hauling for a local milk company ( I know Ottery is hiring)?

DD is home, on the couch, and not taking any drugs at the moment. They have given her Tylenol with Codeine but so far she says she is ok. She has eaten a vanilla shake, a scrambled egg, and some mashed potatoes. I made up a double batch of tapioca for her, she can sample it once it cools down enough.

The best phone call of the day was from my sister. She calls for me to come over and take a look at her Pomeranian's 'boy' part, she thinks it is stuck outside and has been like that since the night before......

Why me?!!! I did a quick search online before heading over there just to see what I should do IF there was a remote possibility of me getting it back in, and I grabbed some nitrile gloves from my soap supplies. One look was all I needed; there was no WAY I was going to get that sucker back in! So my poor sister had to cart her poor dog to the vet for an emergency 'procedure'..... now this dog is a neutered male, BUT my sister has an intact female shih tzu/mini poodle mix that he likes to have 'fun' with. Apparently he had his fun and his part got stuck on all of his long hair..... LAST NIGHT. Poor dog...... with my google search I found this can be corrected easily if it has not gone on for too long. My sister is blaming herself for not catching it earlier.... but I understand that we cannot catch all the issues with out pets all the time.

So that was my fun-filled afternoon! Made Swai fillets baked in the oven with Cajun seasoning, and some corn and potatoes to go along with it.

emergency!!! I don't know why but I got home and one of the new chicks was dead. I have no idea why. I separated the bigger chicks and the smaller chicks. What else should I do?

And also, right now I have paper towels as bedding. Could I replace it with shavings? Just don't want them to choke.

Who died, little one? Did it die before you separated them? How old was it? Did you dip all their beaks in the water so they knew where to drink from?

I only have my chicks on paper towels for a few days before changing to wood shavings.

Colton..sorry about your chick.......... but just sit and relax a minute and watch them. are they doing excessive peeping, is the bum pasty? as in gummed up with poo.....do they appear to be eating and drinking? sometimes you can tell what might be wrong by just watching, it could also be nothing, and that chick could have been a weak one or already sick if it was an ordered chick, could also be it didn't get to eat or drink, because it was being picked on or shoved away from the food or water..... post whatever you notice and we will all help......Kim

The chick was dead when they were together. He does have a little poop on his butt. I know that all the chickies know where the water is now for sure. Not sure if that one didn't know. They are not peeping loudly. The rest are eating(a lot) and drinking good. I am not putting in the shavings, we have had some problems with the chicks eating it and choking for some reason. I'll wait till they are bigger. The rest have good butts, big and fluffy.

Evening All...yet great advice for Colton. If the bigger ones were the culprit, then good that you split them up....sometimes, even though the peeps were strong enough to hatch, for whatever reason they don't make it more than a week. Different problems can be the reason. Check for crossed beak on the dead one. In the newbies it's not easy to see, and keeps them from eating and drinking enough to survive....it could be many things...but expect losses the first week and be happy if there aren't any at all.

Love the momma and peeps vicki...just way cute.

Glad you liked the supper TO! I do the lobster for suzie...she thinks it's sweet like me. I can take it or leave it....raw shrimp are just as good in my book.

The turkey tents are up and ready. and so am i.
