omg judge so sorry! how bad was the neck injury?  think i would wait until you can get a antibotic made for animals or maybe someone else has ideas  keep us posted

Neosporin is fine to use on just about any critter. Just sayin' ;)

Judge,

I am sorry about your chicken. I would clean up the wound and maybe use neosporin or another type of antibiotic creme.

It was so nice today, I went to menard's got some lumber and damaged metal roofing and made a sun shade shack for the ladies.
I made one last year with a tarp but it didn't survive, this one should

I am hoping that next weekend I can take of the plastic for the enclosed run. I think it is supposed to rain all week.

the girls are getting so big in 2 weeks. I am hoping in 2 more weeks I can get them in the coop.

here are the pics, enjoy

I told you that chick was a pain..Your daughter will take good care of it..a perfect paring.

The house is so quiet..every single chick is outside..yahoo!! I am taking a chick break. Of course I still have a batch of SLW coming.

Judge..sorry about your chick trouble. I always have a tube of Nu Stock for all animal injurys. It treats anything from bumble foot to vent gleet.

Thank you all for your well wishes. The chick is still alive, and I put some triple antibiotic on it. I should ask DH if we have anything in the barn that would work too. I'm keeping an eye on the remaining eggs of hers that I threw in the incubator. Guess we'll see....

Do these chicks make my butt look big?

Dual broody mom's, not intended but working pretty well so far. The chicks have been out of the box for a week now, actually outside for the last 3 days (during the day) good thing the weather improved.
awww..nothing better than a broody with her brood.

I love this thing. It folds up flat into a case, so it fits easy in the car, has a zip off mesh top and a zip out vinyl floor. The "doors" zip up and are held there by velcro and even has a place for a water bottle and 2 pockets. Oh, and it has stakes so it can be secured to the ground so it can't blow away.

I went to a reptile show today and almost bought a sulcota tortoise and a crested gecko. My brother bought a pastel het clown ball python. He is a beautiful snake, but I could never feed mice to anything. I would post a pic, but BYC won't let me upload off my phone.

had a great day with the beautiful weather. ran some quick errands then was outside playing and we went on a 5 mile bike ride as a family. Grilled some wings outside and pulled out the hot sauce..yum. tomorrow ill be putting up my little greenhouse to get some plants hardened off outside. Should be ok, dont ya think?

oh and delisha...question for you. So I have the two white rocks that are residing at my house. The bigger one is the one with the black edging/light columbian markings and is starting to get tiny pink wattles at 5 weeks...(but comb is not huge yet) and the other is smaller and thin little legs but is getting some buff colors mixed in with the white. What do you think... do you have some that get white with buff highlights on back?

Ok I need green thumb experts. So I have this little berry patch that I put in right after we moved in when some friends threw some berry plants at me and most are brambles that need to be cleaned up....but my lovely (frickfrackcmd, dldlfffm) neighbors behind us have a field of stinging nettle they let grow wild. It strays into my berry brambles. So found these plants coming up a foot outside the bramble berry patch. it is furry/throny...is this a black berry/raspberry plant or thistles or something else? there are a number of them popping up here and there and the torch is coming out tomorrow to burn some weeds! help!
