Oh man... half choc ORP hen with full choc orp male... big butts and beautiful eyes! Seriously, Hershey has the most beautiful eyes on a chicken. From the egg she had them.

I can't wait to see what kind of chicks come from her!

Hello everyone! I have been having a great weekend. It is my birthday today, so the DH and 4 kiddos all went to DD6 dance class, and then out for fish last night, and then this morning I went with my mom and sister to a craft fair. They even had chickens so I had to ask about the breeds. One of them was a beautiful heritage RIR. I have never seen one in person. So pretty. The other were silver pencilled wyandottes (i think) DH sent me a beautiful Edible Arrangement that was delicious. My parents took all four kiddos overnight so I am totally enjoying being alone and doing nothing. Ahhhhhh...quiet.
Had a little excitement this morning. Looked outside and my pony was going nuts inside the fence. Well I knew what that meant- the goats were out. He hates that! I checked on them and they didn't look like they were going anywhere. Just eating the grass so I left them while I got ready. Pretty soon DS3 said the pony was out. So off to get the pony. He didn't run too far though. He is a good boy.
My rooster who is 13weeks and was the sweetest thing and looks just like his daddy and WAS my favorite gave me a good peck on the arm today. I have a big bruise and a nasty mark. Darn thing- I told him to enjoy his time now, because in a few weeks its freezer camp for him. I was even thinking about giving him away because he was soooo sweet I thought someone could really enjoy him. He was so tame because he was my favorite and was held all the time.

Evening To all...kinda happy with the hatch so far 11 for 17 Buckeyes so far and some more pips. Might be quitters though....

Storky is a mommy! I went to close up and thought I would sneak a peek. She's pretty good with me picking her up so I carefully lifted her a bit and there were 2 very wet and very floppy chicks!

They must have hatched within the hour! 8 to go!
