Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Meaties r gross lol we had 15 in a chicken tractor and I moved them around and around the yard. I moved them 2-3x daily. They had shelter and stayed in there 24/7. We covered the whole thing with a tarp at night. I took feed away from 8pm-8am. They grew fast, got huge (7-10lbs), but were lazy, half bald , and died easy at any age. Oh and we butchered at 9-
10 weeks. Did them 2 or 3x. Haven't done them again.
sychopeep and delisha r u in the pic? I can't picture u. I know delish brought 2 woman and a little boy, but I just can't put a face to u two. :(
Guess I better get outta bed now, last day of school for DD.

Sounds like everyone had a great time! Really wish we could have made it and met some of the newer people and see some old friends! irish didn't read too close but maybe try some electrolytes for your girl. Jim hope they find out whats going on with Nora/Dora.

Yesterday was good, bad and, ugly. Me being the ugly part. I want to thank everyone for the thoughts on Taz. Had her put down yesterday, it was for the best but very hard. That was the bad now for the good. The sump pump is shutting off! They filled in the offending ditch and started pumping at 11. Idiot neighbor should have recieved a certified letter and certified map yesterday from the farms lawyers. He's certifiable. So things are back on track if the weather looks even somewhat favorable we're going up Nort next weekend.

Up at 4 Toby wanted to play fetch. Nappin today.

RAIMNEL - I came in the middle of the raffle. I was driving the periwinkle minivan and had small animal cages and water bottles for sale. I came with 4 girls; 2 teenagers were mine, 1 was a mutual friend of theirs, and my 6 yr old. (She was the one with the dark green tshirt w/a piece of cheese on it and it said "Junior" Wisconsin Cheesehead.). On Sat. I was wearing a plum purple short sleeve shirt and my hair was down (goes past my tailbone) but I put it up when we started doing the tent and unloading the van cuz it kept getting in the way. Sunday I had my hair up again and was wearing the Kiss Hello Kitty zip up hoodie. I was the one in the kitchen Saturday late afternoon/early evening making the stew and the girls were helping peel carrots & potatoes.

Oh great.... JJ is gonna have a God complex now... (insert eye rolling smiley holding a bible)
What do ya mean Gonna have?

Bless you my child.

I'd offer heal to everyone, but offering to lay on hands is creepy online, even for me.

and what if it didn't work every time?

That might ruin my complex.

No, I did not sell all of the BO's . I must have 50 or 60 left..

everybody,, send your dead chickens to JJ..
The postal service does stuff to chickens that even I can't fix. Don't bother

I'd take 10 of those Buff Orps if I lived closer. People keep wanting chickens from my brooders. Soon I will be back down to the magic number of 20

well 20 and 2 turkeys

All my goslings are dying. We got 5 from cackle 3 weeks ago, and since friday we have lost one a day. Down to 1 now. In the morning when I come to check on them, there's always one that is laying there barely alive, and it dies within an hour. I'm not sure what's going on. predators are impossible, their cage is cleaned daily, always have non medicated chick feed and water, they are outside free ranging most of the day. They have a heat lamp.

Hi All! I was so wiped out when we got home I couldn't even read the posts! I was asleep by 2:30!!! Paul may not have socialized allot but he loved catching up on his sleep and decompressing! He said he slept real good Sat. night in the car, even when it got cold. He needed that. Young son did the chores so-so, at least nothing died.

I pulled the Hen Turkey from her nest and cleaned up the area. She went to roost with the others. I feel sorry for her, she was out in the yard cooing and clicking like she was calling the babies.

I hope the other hen at least gets some chicks.... she was stealing eggs again over the weekend

Irish.... did I miss something about Michelle?

Well, a couple more things to do then off to Bed! Night All!

One of my sweet little reds had a very traumatic experience - got stuck in the tractor shed all day - got dehydrated and went into shock. I'm worried she won't recover but so far, so good.

I know a little about those large bators.. the mfgr is Jamesway,, used to be in USA, moved to Canada.. I have a few older models .. the one pictured looked like a hatcher,, I didn't see any turners in the tray.. and they ARE VERY heavy.. I am only guessing, but the one on the left is the incubator, the other is a hatcher.. used ones like these go for well over $1000.oo

If you are wondering about air movement in your little bators,, take note of the fan in the Jamesway.

I have 7 guinea keets staring through the bator door at me.. I think there are 20 eggs due for today..

FT< I went to the Dr on Monday.. I will be home most of today.. might go for breakfast and then stop for some garden plants on my way home..

but first,, (not; butt first) I am going to have a cuppa..
