Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Bbp...hope you find your duck!

Well I am taking a ten minute break cause I am wiped out. Need to have beautiful weather like this more often. We have been chopping down scrub trees and weeding beds and moving plants around. Tons if stuff to do and we have been going since 8:30 this morning. I have tons of spiderwort if anyone needs some. Pretty plant but it gets big and lays down sometimes... Wish I could get it all to stand up. Now I need to get some mulch delivers here...beds look good but won't for long unless something is on the top layer. 3 beds done about 20 more to go...ugh...but it is a good start. Ok back to it!

FRENCHIE - wish I would have read your post earlier ( or maybe not!) We just got back from Antigo. Didn't see a chick sign but then I was pretty focused on my turtle Sundae from Culvers. Hubby' s idea of Sunday brunch.

You don't know about Merries Berries? Oooh, you're in for a treat. North on 45 from Antigo, first road to the west (co. Rd. N -Rick' s Roadhouse bar on the corner and they have a big sign on a haywagon they park on the corner when they're open) to co. Rd. H, turn south then it's only a block or so down on the left, just follow the signs. Or you can also go hwy 64 west to H and turn north. They open at 7am but you should always call the day before to make sure they're picking. They also do peas, or at least they have in previous years. You can check out their website and they now have a page on FB. if you get on their list they are good at letting you know when they're picking,at least the start, after that they just get too busy I think but they are getting better with the updates. Best bet tho is to call. Most of the time you'll get a taped update but you never know when Mary will pick up.

400

Would the one in the middle be a lavender or splash or just another black w lavender gene? Roo & hen were black/lavender.
11 hatched 4 pipped and 2 alive but no pip.

Wow... that's a great hatch rate !!! Were those incubated in your homemade bator for most of the time? What lomde are they? Black/lavender what? I may have missed a previous post.
Were the parents both black split to lavender or was one black and the other lavender?

Middle one looks like a splash but without knowing the background not sure splash what??

Lavenders wouldn't have the splash look. Whatever color they are they are adorable !!

At least I didn't enable you to stop and get any chicks then !!! LOL So they pick the berries for you !!! LOL I lkie that !!

What is lomde? They are black split orphington the black on each end are only half. I moved 8 on Thursday to homemade so were in Brinsea for 18 days. I only planned on using homemade for hatching but since 8 were out of mine I didn't want them to hatch with the 9 of my friends. She's taking them as soon as the last ones hatch. This was just experimental being my first time and never expected this many to hatch as she wasn't even getting 1/4 hatch rate on her Hovabator. I looked at it today and put a fan in it for her and had her move the thermometer as it was too close to the heat coil. Could be the problem but also she was running around 80% humidity the whole time and could also be another problem. Had her get humidity down to 50%. Sad how she's been hatching for quite a few years and this is my first hatch. She does not have the internet like me though to cram my brain with tons of information.

Quote: I feed twice a day..I feed out 1/2 the bucket for morning feed. Fill it up with dry, and feed almost 1/2 a bucket at night time. My chicks and ducklings eat most of it.

Yep. You just call and place your order and they. Will tell you when it will be ready. Their berries are always BEAUTIFUL! You.know, I think I might like the "they pick" option better this year myself.

Gorgeous babies Stacy!!!

Stacy, the orp in the middle looks blue to me.

I finally had to put down that deformed chick that has been in the incubator for days, chirping away happily. I found out it was also missing an eye. I will not be getting anymore Swedish Flower hens. Ever.
