We are pulling all the carpet out and I was thinking about having the floors refinished but discovered now all the bedroom doors will be way short and we just replaced the hollow ones and bought some expensive solid oak ones... what to do... Think I will live with un-refinished through the winter and see how cold my tootsies get. But still going to put hardwood in the living room and have the dining room sanded to match...
Raspberries are about to pop and boy are there going to be a ton.
Couldn't wait 2 weeks for the Buckeyes so went to the guy in Stoughton and got a Cherry Egger and a Black Java...He is a nice guy, clean yard and smart not to let us in the barn for bio-security, but you can see into it that is neat and orderly as it can be considering there are chickens doing what chickens do doo doo.
Judge I see the difference between Classic and "Stylin" You are "Stylin" in a great way, I remember when I wore dresses that short and could still show my knees

You a hottie, sure your DH knows this... I agree tractor needs to be used... Understand it seems harsh since they been free ranging but its for their own good....We dont let kids play in the street.

Baby.. do you know anyone who uses poison for mice rats? Hopefully it was just something rotten she ate... Dogs are notorious the worse it smells the better they like it!

Cind never thought of drying but they sure will take up less room... maybe you can store them in oil like sun dried, bet they will be great...

Sitting up with a sick pooch tonight...... not how I thought I would end my day! Poor Trixie got into something that REALLY does not like her! She started throwing up late this afternoon, her face started to get puffy, and she has some weird hive-like bumps in the inside of her back leg..... so after doing some digging I gave her some benadryl and

...... she is resting right now. So since I gave her some meds and her breathing was a little wonky before she passed out (she was panting heavily)..... I'll be up for a while! Poor baby.....

So what better way to keep myself entertained? Why watch Storm Chasers of course!!!!

Poor baby! I hope she gets rid of whatever is troubling her!!

Hi all! Happy Birthday FT- hope you had a fabulous day

I lost another chick in the last day. Again I don't know where it went. DH thinks I should just put them in a brooder, but since they have been free range since the beginning I kind of feel bad doing that to them. Then again, I don't want to lose anymore. The latest was my favorite- she was a gray chick with barred wings and a yellow face

Went to my cousins wedding last night and had a ton of fun. DH couldn't find anyone to milk, so I had to go it alone.....again. He did however change his mind about the dress and said I looked nice. Everything was so beautiful, especially the bride. The bridesmaids dresses were so pretty, and I thought the color was so unique. Here is a picture of my cousin/best friend (she is the sister of the bride) and me last night.


Hope you all survive the heat this week. I hope we get some rain!

Momtille, whn we purchased our home, we took two weeks vaca to do some upgrading. They were elderly. Did a wonderful job of keeping it up. But ver dated! When we discove red the wood, we worked our butts off sanding. In the end, I stripped it.worked so much better! Open every wi dow. Buy a $#!t ton of rubber gloves! Worth every second!! Our furnace has a large vent in the basement aimed toward the middle of the wood. Really keep it warm!
Melissa, I hope that pup is ok. I agree with momgille. Check the gums, and inside the ears. Look for bruising. What do the bumps look like on the belly?
Cs, glad things are co.ing together.
We are headed out the door in a bit to get some turkeys! That barn will be full in no time I just have to be sure to keep some room for the horse (s) someday!!!!!

Well, I have had a hell of a day so far. Woke up at 5:30 to a bee stinging me in the face, I must have rolled over on a wasp that was on my pillow. Then I decided to try to make tomato sauce, which is a first for me. I got hot pepper juice in my eyes, then when I used the mixer like I was told to do, I managed to get tomato flying all over my kitchen, so I just kind of gave up on that hope. At this point it's looking more like salsa than anything aha.

Trix is MUCH better this morning. She ate half of her breakfast and of course would like it if we would slip her a few pieces of bacon.....

NONE of my neighbors put out poison, and we have a fenced 60x120 lot. I did check her gums last night and they were just a little bit pale, but that could have been due to her nausea. Her ears were hot and red, her hr was slightly elevated but no fever. I did force two benadryl down her throat and after about 1/2 an hour she passed out. By the time I headed off to bed around midnight, the hive-like swellings on her back leg were just red areas and she was not as puffy in the face. She slept well all night (of course) and is ok for now. Unfortunately I have to go to work and cannot watch her all day, so I will have to get updates from the kids.

I wanted rain but it could have held off until I was in the car! It is pouring buckets outside!

Off to the UW today. The Bio dept. is holding a meeting. I hope this means good news for me.

We remodeled our house. Too long of a story to go through now. LOVE our hardwood floors!
