Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Nice looking frozen birds Lisa....Is that the place in Waupaca that you took them to? What was the cost per bird? Looks like they did a nice job on them.

Yep, I agree with To. I like to keep the young ones locked up when they start to lay, til they figure out where to lay. Then they will run back to the nests to lay when they are free ranging.

Tomorrow is Friday already...where did the week go?

Thanks! Hopefully they are as tasty as they look. They ate lots of grass, apples, and bugs. I've never a eaten a chicken that ate grass, grew in the sunshine, or ate bugs before...sad.
You will enjoy them..the flavor profiles are unbeatable. I had the BLRW tonight for dinner..It was the best tasting chicken I have ever had.

The people at works are butt holes

Hi All!

Lisa.... Those birds do look big! There should be some good meals there!

TO.... glad your having fun!

CS.....Hope you can get things straightened out at work! DH is "middle management" where he works and I feel sorry for his stress level. He's had some of his "underlings" try to sabotage him too. All you can do sometimes is just try to prove them wrong.

Jon's boss may start thinking Jon is cursed

It started OK but after they left the house in IOWA the Jeep had trouble, they got it fixed but put them behind and they had to push to get to Texas on time. They made it but it rained all weekend so they made about half of what they should have. They did what they had to to finish up there and took off for N. Carolina. The Jeep broke again and needed parts replaced. THEY COULD NOT WAIT, they were just barely going to make the next show on time. So, They packed everything they needed that was in it and loaded it into the RV. Hooked up the trailer, made arrangements to pick up the Jeep next week and took off. Flat tire.... spare had gone "bad w/rust. Got help getting that fixed but now even more behind!!! Jon called last night. They are about 600 miles from where they have to be by Fri. night/ very early Sat. to check in, set up and open. If they are late they could loose that show for good. The RV broke down. Probably couldn't take the extra weight.

They did go over booth the jeep and the RV before they left, spent the last few days working on both and other than an "iffy" radiator in the Jeep (which they planned on replacing in Texas) they should have been good to go!

Such is life I guess.
Night All!

Well, that was interesting....I went to text Jon and his boss some hugs.... and he called! Things have taken a turn for the better!!! There was a long string of events I won't rattle on about but..... in short, they wound up giving the RV to a young military family. Jon had feeling it was the right thing to do and his boss agreed. They explained everything that was wrong with it and told them they could fix it and enjoy it or scrap it and use the money. It's an old RV but they did get it running again, they just couldn't chance it on the road for what all they had to do. They rented a truck and the guy helped him pack everything from RV into the truck. They are on their way and should make it on time!

Yumm - nice looking harvest Lisa. We started to grow our own chicken last year and you just can't beat the pasture/free range raised birds. All that good grass, bugs, fresh air and sun shine makes for great eating. Ours gets lots of treats too . . . just like the layers. We have such spoiled birds, but they treat us well with good eggs, meat, and tons of entertainment

My week has sucked really bad. I have someone at work that is purposefully making invalid reports to my boss about me.

sscratch: Do you have an Employee Assistance office where you work? If so you may want to talk to them about this harassment.
