Welcome to the group..I'm so excited to learn all I can! Thank you!
I am glad Jon made it!!Well, they made it to the Ren. Faire!!! Heath set up the shop and Jon spent most of the day cleaning up the front of the shop and planting flowers in the garden. The shop is right next to "The Queen's Court" so management wanted that as a priority. Jon, being the good country boy he is, didn't have any problem playing in the dirt most of the day! LOL He was suppose to post pictures tonight but I think they both just fell asleep!
Welcome to the new people!
Things have been a little quiet here lately, but normally we're a pretty "noisy" bunch!![]()
The Tom turkeys have taken to roosting (one on each side) of the ramp rail. Forcing the dog to take the long way to the back yard! LOL Yep, they got him trained! No more bird chasing for Rudy!![]()
Night All!
I am hoping to expand to some meat birds next spring but nowhere near the quantity that you did Amy... How old were they and what was their average weight?
Maybe I can talk my neighbor into sharing some.
Well the flooring people left today and hoping to put furniture back in place Sunday.Tired of eating out and making my way through n arrow pathways in my family room, looks like an episode of hoarders.
Funny how deer know exactly when things are ripe and how to get there before we do.
perhaps we could share an order of meat birds in the spring?
Quote: John,
I have cornish X crosses..they free range pretty good and I sell them for 2.50 as day olds. I do not do big order since I only have two cornish hens.
Quote: I have heard most feed them to the other animals including the chickens..I have only wormed once and that is what I did.

I do not give my bird drugs unless i absolutely have to. I take fecal into the vets office once a year. I have had one positive test. I feed my birds garlic, pumpkin, BOSS, oregano, and Fermented feed. Those things promote good intestinal flora and keep the birds well balanced and keeps the worms from taking over. With a fecal and knowledge on what it is I am up against, I will not be giving ineffectual drugs and make the system worse instead of better. Drugging willy nilly can throw off the birds and the cycle continues threw the life of your whole flock. You end up drugging and treating forever and it never stops.![]()
This is just my opinion. and it works for my personal flock in the area I live in. I free range my flock and do not confine in small areas so it might not work for someone else.
