Thanks for the mini advice guys!!!

Cute mini donkeys twiz!!

Teri, I think you guys have made it so long because you are awesome! ;-)

I think the kids are changing his name to brownie lol we told them they could have a little time to decide! He was off his rope today when we got home!! How scary! The yard is completely fenced. And the lady we got him from said he stayed in a pen made out of the same fence we have. But still... I have pics of his mom and dad, and they don't seem as chubby. But he is only 6 months. He already has learned soooo much. We can now walk right up to him in the yard. And I no longer have to do much coaxing when walking him :) he will not eat apes :-( we tried a slice today and he turned up his nose! He sure does like grass and hay!
I also need to have him gelded! How old before I can do that? They have not yet dropped. Do I doit right away?

Hi judy! Nice to see you :) want to get rid of that fencer? And fencing? Lol! I also agree on the easter eggers! Ours is timid. But did not get her untill adulthood. But she lays a big beautiful green egg almost every day!

Frenchy must really be mia! Anyone hear from her lately?

I should have had Minis where I said ponies, but everything I said applies. They tend towards fat. They also tend toward hay bellies. I had several Minis but only one quarter pony. They quarter pony was much more like a horse than the minis (but he was half quarter horse). I had a tiny Arabian type, only 28" at the withers. He was a handful! Then I had one on the large side for a mini as well at 36". Both were registered, but the smaller one really looked like a miniature horse, the other looked like a Shetland pony all the way. Enjoy him, they are sweet! I thought you were going to come out and get some riding lessons cuties...I guess you have been at a swap every weekend ;)

We have constantly been at swaps! Lol
No worries :-D we are still coming!! I hope by the time our mini is old enough syd is still little enough to ride!! I should look to see what their weight limit is. Sydney is puting a towel on his back. She decided it will get him used to a saddle :) she picks up his feet. And scott says he will build something that resembles a trailer to practice with. I feel so excited to have him! Lol makes me want a big one so much more! Haha

Well good grief--I am glad he is not eating apes...next would be your kids!

Many horses dont seem to develope a taste for apples until later (I dont know about apes) same with carrots. We got our guy gelded at 8 months. As soon as they start displaying stallion/stud like behavior it's time! Better sooner than later! You dont want him trying to mount your kids! They can be more dangerous than a horse so watch out...folks tend to treat them like dogs--big mistake! They do have much more power than a dog!

I am wondering about Frenchie as well...folks just dont get it that we worry!

I am heading to Amyable's place on Wednesday I believe...If anyone has anything that needs to head Northish let me know.

OK--I do believe it is time for bed! Later--TO

i am from Albany, WI we would like kid friendly and good layer if that exists?

I've only had chx since this spring but I have a black australorp and red sex-links and handled them regularly as chicks along with letting my boys (3 & 6), and had another chicken owner make a comment on how calm and friendly they are. They run up to me for treats whenever they hear me outside. They are also Freeranged.

You TOTALLY had me laughing hard! Happy belated anniversary and also sending thoughts to you and your family.
My roo is doing well with the bald spot. He'll make a full recovery I believe. Nothing else has come up with him and nobody is pecking him. :)

Soon as the nuts drop, lop em off. Mini stallions are just as bad as big ones :). I can vouch for that one personally.

They usually have to learn how to eat treats like apple and carrots. It's easy if they see their mom do it.

Hi All!

Yep, Natas (I pronounce it Nautas) is my 15yr. old cat that I've had for about 14 years. She's the one that sleeps with me and makes sure I breath. She doesn't go out allot but when she does sometimes it's for a couple of days. She doesn't seem to go very far either. Normally she's a very beautiful fluffy black cat. I kinda wonder if someone picked her up and she got away from them and headed home. I don't see any wounds but allot of fur is missing, she may have gotten into burs and pulled them out. I am pulling small ticks off her right and left. She's very thin

but she's home and safe now!

Neil will be in rehab for at least another week. His RN said I should come to the assessment meeting next Mon. and they will work with us on getting equipment and help.

I sure hope some of our wayward people show up soon.

Well, a couple of things to do yet, then bed time.... Night All!

Cindlady so glad they are doing the assessment and want you there to help you get some equipment and extra help. Also happy about kitties return, wonder if old momma is capable of kittens, you could be in for a surprise.
Speaking of ticks though, I went into Doctor to have a deer tick bite checked. Went with my sisters up to the area where my Dad loved to hunt on his birthday Sunday to spread his ashes and walked out with a couple of deer ticks. No matter their size ticks are just gross. Doctor said if removed within 36 hours I had nothing to worry about.

Several of the MIA's I hope you are all right, certainly thinking of you and wishing you the best!

TO, you and your DH remind me of every couple I have ever met who have been together a LONG time. Happy Anniversary!

Yeah Cuties, when are you heading up this way??????

One of the more interesting things I was ever able to witness was watching a Vet geld a horse. The horse snored through the entire procedure! I felt bad for him when he woke up though, they decided since he was out they would pull his wolf teeth too so he was aching from both ends!

If I forgot anything, I apologize. Suffering from CRS!
