Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Haha fernie, I have bunnies too :) I run most bucks in a big outdoor pen in summer. And does have their own. I have one buck that only gets along with does ;-) he is the main breeder as he is good quality, and pedigreed.
If your interested, sis has new zeland, silver fox, and is just getting into champagne. I know she has some other meaties. But can't remember... she is really into it. All natural kind of girl. Total opposite of me. She raises most of her own food. I however keep only pets!! Lol
If your interested, I have a huge bator. Ive just fired it back up for a hatch. You are welcome to hatch some here :) Brandon.

Cc, you are making me jealous again! ;-)

Oh you are truely E.V.I.L. You know. To attempt to enable both my DH and myself at the same time is worthy of the True EVIL GENIUS award. I know the 4 we are waiting on for January are Silver foxes. A breeding pair of blacks and blues. I forget the ones he is suppose to pick up this week or maybe it was the beginning of December. Harlequin colored I think. i will let him know. He wants to get a NZW doe and I am looking for NZRs. Dh is also interested in getting more Silver Foxes. As it put it having more non related would probably not hurt.

I see me getting the incubator on EBAY I found and a TON of hatching eggs after all is said and done.

I would love to, but my chicks are only 6 days old, the ducks have yet to let me near them. Have had them a week or so. If I had the ability to get fertile eggs and you were close enough your incubator would be MINE...... LOL i am a very bad addict. DH has rabbitous. I have poultrytis and hatchingitis. Apparently mine go hand in hand. DH's issue costs us 100 to 200 each episode. Mine may cost a 50 an episode, well once I have an incubator it will. LMAO

Heard back from the Springer rescue group today!!!

I hope they take him....

, it would be good for him to be with people who know what they are doing. Since we have no yard, the 2X daily walks are getting old-FAST! I love how the kids are all gung-ho to keep him but grumble every time I ask them to walk him in the evenings. The good thing is he is getting his needed exercise and getting to know the boundaries of the house.

With all of this, I am now thinking twice about getting another dog. I am remembering what a PITA is was to have a puppy around........... and thinking cats are better............

I am with you Terri, this daily walk just wears me out. By 9 I am ready for bed.

Hi All!

SClark.... It's nice not to eat icky store eggs! Glad you got eggs again!

We got snow too.... and it looks like it will stay at least a few days! I got to get an extension cord set up so my new rooster's water doesn't freeze. Hope he'll be OK 'till I get to it. Sure glad it will warm up later in the week, didn't get everything put away I wanted before we got snow.
Well, way past even my bedtime! Jon wanted those quill pens for this weekend and I worked on them most of the night. My break was when I did dishes!

Well, they're packed and ready to go.

Ok... too tired to chat anymore...... Night All!

P.S. CC, you think I pick on you? LMAO.... you should have seen how I picked on my wheel chaired neighbor growing up! Let's just say "pushing" her to town was an......... adventure! hehehehe I don't have much mercy for my son either

Good morning! Hi there Jim...back from town already? I hope all went well!

When I did rabbits they were all New Zealand's. Easier to butcher when they all look the same...same with meaties I guess. Once they have color and I can tell them apart it is a lot harder! I guess I dont see the point of knowing the genetics if you are just going to eat them anyway. I guess there must be shows to see how fast weight gain is and feed conversion and all that jazz...Similar to how I feel about papers on a gelding...or a neutered dog...why? JMHO--remember.

So today I need to do the same stuff and Cind--get those dishes plugged in! I am also moving quail into the barn so I dont have to fight their pen in the winter. The pigeons probably should be moved too...before the cage freezes to the ground! Gee, I guess I better get moving!
I wonder if the hose is unfrozen yet?

Have a good one! TerriO

Great news! Backyard hens and honeybees passed for all residences in unincorporated Lake County on 1/4th of an acre and larger! Buck buck Buckaw! Buck buck buckaw!

Although I do not live in the unincorporated area, this is one step closer to the incorporated areas being allowed chickens!

Whoo-hoo! Congrats, Kendra!

Have you tried that rabbit food? I forgot to tell you to mix it in with the stuff they are already used to eating.

Mel, I have quite enough character already, thank you.

CC-I haven't started adding it yet. With the police searching through the yard, it is making it hard to get to the critters. I check on them all really early and very late. Yesterday was the 1st time that the police didn't come around, but the darn chickens didn't want to come out in the snow!

FYI-there was a homicide a block from my house and the K9 dog tracked the suspect into and through my yard. The police suspect that he threw the gun into the ravine on our property. I am waiting to hear more. I do not know if they have recovered the gun.
