yeah, that means you my kinds of peeps. I have been dying here looking at all the lovely chicken pictures. OMG I want purple chickens now.

You know it is all your FAULTS! You are all to BLAME. Now I have to SHAME the DH into getting me an incubator. He started talking to me about building one. I told him not unless he can build it cheaper than it would be to buy one.

I built my own and it only cost me a few dollars for the light figure and bulbs as I had the other supplies lying around.

Thank you and I PMed back. DH has the rabbit addiction. I have the poultry addiction. Mine is cheaper in the long run since every rabbit need a cage and the cages run us about 75 to 100 per rabbit.

We have 19 now, are suppose to pick up two this week and have 4 reserved for us in January. I am out of cages. But let me see what DH says to the rabbits. LMAO

I have Full Satin female grey and white, Mini Satin albino male(no exact age but think a year old) and female(born Easter) and a black and white female(think a year old), Netherland Dwarf male(2yrs old), Satin x dwarf male black and a grey and white female these 2 were born May 25th. 7 total but I think we are keeping the full satin female as she's older and not doing very well keeping weight on. The rest are all in good health.

I just read through that I now I have a headache(thank you very much!) You know, I used to be really good at genetics...but now I see why I have such an odd thing going here...after letting the birds self breed for 15 years..who the heck knows what I really have?

Why do all the rabbits need their own cages if they are meat rabbits? When I did meat rabbits I bred them in a large pen and the girls dug their own dens. Put the boy in for a few days and then you had 100 rabbits before you turned around!
Speaking of babies....I had a broodie hatch 14 babies today! Darn chicken! I think I will gather them up and put them all in a pen so they at least have a chance. The other hen with 10 has babies that are about 3 weeks now so she should be able to go out with them...it never ends!

We do not do colony style. We have the babies all together sorted by sex, but the breeders have their own cages. DH does not want breedings he has not clue of. No Ooops we have babies happening here. DH has ADD with OCD and it makes for interesting times. The rabbits are one of the things I know to not mess with. They are a big trigger for him. His rabbits he can do them his way. The chickens and ducks are my thing, so I have more control.
