Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Awww, that is too bad about the pup, Terri, especially the timing. So sorry that had to happen on your day, along with all the other bummers too.

By the way all the other ones were lost, the lone one probably had something wrong with him too, perhaps? Maybe it was for the best. I am glad Pearl likes being part of the family. She deserves to be happy. She looks like a good girl. How is Liza doing? Is Moon the kicker?

Irish, they can't make up their minds between the birds and the two fish tanks! All are great sources of entertainment!

Ang, I hope your roo survives.

TO, so sorry about the pup! How terrible it had to happen on your birthday!

I was finally able to get some pics of our frozen water balloons today. I managed to get some really interesting pictures of the gas bubbles trapped in the ice, and the fizzures through the spheres. I have those pics on the desktop, but I can share this one on here.

Hi All!

TO... Sorry about the pup too. I agree though, there was probably something wrong that just didn't show right away. There could have been something wrong with Perl too that she made real weak pups. Hard to say without a bunch of tests. Since (I would guess) she's going to get spayed now, it's not as much of a concern.

Well, it was nice having all the kids and grand kids over. I just wish I had felt a bit better while they were here. I was kinda queasy. Got the presents unwrapped and some of the adults played a game. I got a real cool gift from my DIL and her dad. I'll post it when I get them all cleaned up.

Guess that's it, going to try to get to bed.... Night All!

Good morning all. Hear we are in for another few days of crappy weather...hate to say it but I have a friend who is moving to Arizona in the spring...I will join her next winter for a few weeks I think...I wish!!!
Anyway...ds7. Won his first wrestling match...his first, first place in his class and his first pin of the opponent. He was so thrilled...utter cuteness.
We list our little bantam rooster last week. He seemed ok, then next morning I went out and he was on the ground with Popsicles frozen on his bottom, gone. Bummer. Well I guess we get to figure a new breed for 4 h....need to look into rose combs or pea combs though...sick of Vaseline all winter and we still had one get some good frostbite on her comb. Morgan is going to start clover buds with 4h this spring. They take the winter off and start up again in March here.

So does anyone have good thoughts on a nice breed for 4h(love silkies and bantam cochins but think feathered feet in outdoor cages not great for 4h)without a full comb for Morgan to handle? we have some nice polish but they are standoffish.... Delawares?Amaracaunas? Wyandottes? what do you guys think!

That is the excitement here...off to the pet store and target for some morning errands. Stay warm..sounds like tomorrow is snow and blowing winds.

good morning, going to the feed mill in a few minutes .. today is the day I am switching from layer granuals to real ground grains ..

Mel, it looks like you have way more snow there than I have here.. and we didn't get any of those large, colored hail stones either..

I am not making coffee here today.. I will get a cuppa at the feed mill ..

I am letting all the birds loose as long as the days are warm.. last night they all went into their proper coops.. I was not here to chase them,, when I got home, all I had to do was close the doors.

Good morning! Slept in today...I woke from a very sound sleep at 9AM! AAHHHH--vacation.....too bad I'm not in Florida for a REAL vacation though. Still have to do all the stuff around here. It is a vacation though cause I can take my time and enjoy the chores instead of haveing to rush to get off to work. (yeah, I'll go with that)

BL4 those frozen balls look like giant jelly beans in the snow! Very cool.

I am thinking about going to the dog park today to enjoy the last of this melt down. I would like to get Pearl out to run and lord knows the terrier and the BCs could use it too! Liza is doing quite well on 20 mg of steroids per day. I will take her in for a blood draw this afternoon to see where her red and white cells are. Hopefully going in the direction they need to go. The old old rat terrier got into a scrap with bigger dogs yesterday and seems to be painful near his mouth. Always something I tell ya! If any kids come by today I will have them hold him and I will take a look.

Well, much more to read elsewhere...then outside. I think I am making a pork roast tonight...maybe I can smash one of those gigantic squash and get it into the oven too? I wish I know how to run the chainsaw....cant be that hard right?

Have a good one! TerriO

I seem to spend my days alternating cats. I cannot wait for the two little ones to no longer be quarantined..... they were given their second worming dose this morning, and of course their ear mites are just a PITA! Poor Annabelle looks terrible because of the oil, she will be getting a bath when it is all over with. Jinx STILL has a bit of a pot belly and she has had the sneezes since we got her. I am SO hoping she does not have the wet form of FIV, she is so spunky and such a hoot to have around! I love how she swishes her stump with attitude!

I spent the morning making homemade Veg beef soup. My friend with 5 kids has a household full of sick people! The only person healthy is her! So I though I would help her out and bring her some good old fashioned soup. I boiled up the beef neck bones yesterday, and finished the soup this morning. I also made some cheddar garlic biscuits and some brownies to take over to her house along with the soup. Poor lady needs a break! She has everyone on antibiotics, a few on nebulizers, poor lady had to make up a dosing chart just to keep everything straight!

The BIG news of the day is............... I have a face to face interview with Kimberly Clark!!!!
