Hi all--wow Beckyschicks...a blast from the past! How is it going?
Yes a get together here tomorrow...maybe at noon or 1 and going into the afternoon/early evening too? I guess it depends on how many times Joe calls Deli? (LOL) I am hoping the vet will be here and I can send Syd out with him and my DD to "do" the horses. She can get a bit of an education and Cuties can get a little break! The house is open to whomever wants to come...just come to see all of us and not the house OK? (unless you are a builder and can do some work while you are here...or a cleaning lady with a day off!)
I have been getting goose eggs! I finally picked one up today that was not frozen. I am having it for breakfast tomorrow--soft-boiled. I am totally hooked on that since last year when I sold so many for Easter. (I hope they call again!) They are not setting yet, nor do I want them to...I have to gather some eggs up for people! Plus, I think it is too early. Who was saying somebody was taping treed already? THat has to be a little way off yet...what say you H&R? (BTW--I have some greyish English Angora fur for your DD to add)
All of a sudden I am really tired...I think I will hit the hay. Brent--we had Swai tonight too. I poached it in some "refrigerator soup" that I had going in the crockpot...it was really good!
Goodnight--TerriO
My mom Apparently is on the way home from the one in Fond du lac. We are the proud owner of 2 Easter Eggers, an Unknown amount of Turkens, Barred Rocks, orpingtons, and a New Hampshire. They were going to get a pair of sebrights but the male's crow didn't sit too well with mom. LOL. Can't wait until I can go home over spring break this week to see them! Even my Dad, Who isn't too hot on chickens, went with her!! (I think it's working and he's reluctantly starting to like these birds!!I meant to post this a few days ago......

Jim...that is NOT a white elephant gift! Well, I guess technically it could be...on second thought. The definition of White Elephant is "something that you have but do not want; and it could be useful to someone else." So I guess if you made 50 pints of Grape Jelly and you wont be able to eat it all in your lifetime...then you could use it for a W.E!better yet, I'll give you my address and you can come pick up a jar or two..
I'll bring some to the bash..maybe put it in the white elephant ?
I also made blackberry ..
Well I am glad you could read that post...rereading I couldnt believe how bad it was...I must really have been tired! So, tapping today....HMMM--I guess I will put that on the docket for tomorrow! I think I have plenty to do today with the DD coming to show the horse, the horse vet and the chicken people...and now the baby goat too! Yeah, it would be easier living in a condo...but definitely not as interesting!Funny you should mention tapping trees- DH and I were just talking about this, we might go ahead today and tap our trees since it looks like the temps will starting going about freezing during the day and drop below freezing at night. The buckets can set just fine outside.
I will let DD know about the fiber![]()
Off to get the day started...have to do some pen cleaning![]()
Morning Jim!
I hope all your chickens are ok and none of the snow got them.
About the doctors remark.. I think if I had cancer I would prefer that the doctor tell me " I hope you can, eat well, stay rested and we'll see where that will take you"... or something like that.. doesn't the doctor know that he knows that this cancer will probably kill him, you don't need to be playing the doctors words over and over in your head. Better to have a ray of hope than none at all.
Have a good day!
Yeah... I know two people that doctors said would not survive and both lived many years beyond that and died of different causes. Both of them, the doctors said later, were miracles. They DO happen so there's always hope. I sometimes wonder if God not only answered prayer but also let the medical staff know just exactly who is in control.
