Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Yep, seems like people are eager to take "free" stuff, but sometimes aren't too concerned what happens to it because they have nothing invested.

Here she is! This is Ginger Snap aka Ginger. She is some kind of terrier mix. No idea how she lost the eye but it does not hinder her in the slightest. Obviously she is a little hefty but we will fix that!

just got home from the benefit,, they raised over $2700.oo for Kevin & Barby..
the pot luck was very nice and there was not a single bean left in my crock pot.. Only a few people knew there was venison in it.. (the card players)..

I let the puppies out this afternoon for awhile.. Puppy stayed with them and enjoyed them playing with him.. I think the playing will get even better when they get to know each other ..
I was impressed how this 80 pound dog could play so gently with those 10 pound babies.. He has never seen a puppy before..

tomorrow I will let them have another play date ..

The man and his wife brought 9 cockatiels to Annie today.. we had to scramble before they showed up to knock a big cage loose from it's icey snowbank.. the rollers are still outside embedded in the ice.. there are some really neat colors in this batch of birds.. One is pure white..

Hi Everyone!!!
Well here is an update on the chick situation. Out of the 35 we received, 10 didn't make it. So hard to tell which breed is which, so I will just have to wait until they are a little older before I know. I contacted the hatchery and just asked for a refund. I just cannot handle losing anymore chicks. Thanks everyone for all of your advise and suggestions. I greatly appreciate it.

I was finally able to get my chickens to come out of the coop today!

The weather was beautiful! I am pretty sure that my wyondotte is broody. She will not move a muscle when we go to get the eggs and she is feisty! First time dealing with a broody hen....WOW!

Hope you all are enjoying the nice weather! I hope it stays this way!

Hi All!

Cute Dog and pup pics!

Nothing new, the young Tom spent the night on the roof of the coop last night but I got him in today. Eggs are picking up! Hope the weather keeps getting nicer!

Night All!

good morning,

our egg production is holding steady, so the 10 hens I sold were not laying for sure..
I know that at least one of the egg layers is a buff orpington..

having my first cuppa and looking forward to the nice day forecasted..

I might start Ollie up and scrape some of the excess humps and bumps off of the driveway..

I expect that there will be some slush in the next few days.. slushy days and freezing nights makes for some nasty ruts .. our road out front is snow covered.. that will make driving slow a must do ..

Puppy find sent me a message telling me that 89 people viewed my ad.. maybe so, but they must all be window shoppers, because I didn't get a single response or inquiry ..

I just put a "beware" ad on Craigslist. There is this woman from Woodville who keeps selling sick chicks, and chicks that are full of parasites. Every single person who has told me that they bought from her has had a good portion of her chicks or hens die. Someone just got some yestetday and they were full of mites. How does a chick out of the incubator get infested with mites? Someone was talking about it on Facebook and another lady chimed in. Said she went there last summer and the chicks had puffy eyes, there were a lot of dead ones, and they were full of flies. Another lady said the chickens had no water and some had drowned in the stock tank for the cattle. I know for a fact this woman was going around buying pure breed chicks from smaller local breeders and then selling them for a profit. Now she claims to have all of these species and breeds of birds and its just sickening.

Hi all! We had soo much fun at Terri's place yesterday :)
Del, thanks so much for the new babies! I had to tell syd to put her silkie back I to eat for a bit lol
Gb; goat baby because he is not getting named because he is not staying, is actually perking up. We got him to suckle. Teri, he is a little raspy whilr drinking. No other time. Is this normal? I googled and am kind of freaked aboit pneumonia. Would love your opinion. He has been up and at em a coup le times. But mostly sleeps under his heat lamp in the bathroom.
