Ordered in some CCL to add to my Easter hatch. USPS had a field day. Smashed up a couple pretty good, but they were the eggstras, so I've got a dozen to attempt to get to hatch. I can only imagine the ride they had, given the egg spread around the inside of the box.



One egg got asploded, another bashed but not broken open.



But a dozen arrived intact with air cells either intact or a little misshapen, so we'll see what happens.




Got nearly 3 dozen of my own eggs to set tomorrow along with the shipped eggs.

Candled the incubating eggs due to hatch this weekend and next, lots of healthy looking veining and kicking chicken going on.

Stacy, I assume you are rolling those eggs ? pi-d=circ. so 1.1/2 x 3.14 = about 4 1/2 divided by 2 equals about 2 1/4 .. so your 2 inches of travel should be sufficient ..

Or take an egg and roll it across a smooth surface one full turn.. then measure how far it went and divide that by 2..

Hi All!

Forgot who asked about comfrey , but the root is one of the ingredients in my Green Goop.

Hurley... Almost looks like saw "fragile" and went wild!!!

Neil started a new treatment for his MS today, it called Gilenya . So far he says he feels good on it. No shots, just a once a day pill. Hope it helps.

Jon is in Milolii, Hawaii staying with a friend.

Nothing new for me.... Night All!

Not rolling them, they will be sitting big end up in 2 18pack egg cartons I cut the bottoms out of and set on the rack. It will turn like the turner in the Hova just the whole batch will go at one time as I don't have individual rows like the other turners. Like a teeter totter effect, best I can describe it.

If you do it that way only the ones on the end/sides will be getting the whole 2in. The center ones will barely move.

Thanks Cindy, see when my brain has problems figuring someone.on here always has the info to boost it back in gear. I may have to make 2 separate trays to turn. I had been working on making rows by cutting 3/8 pieced of PVC and screwing them to a board but time restraints made my brain stop thinking pf how I was going to make them all turn w/o a motor. Ill keep trying to get it worked out.

lol what ever my birds eat is all good..I really do not supervise what they eat..they just go find stuff all over. Ii try to plant things that i know is healthy..like spinach, kale, greens, herbs..etc..they probably eat so much more things that I have no idea what it is.

Morning everyone. It is starting out as a dreary day, but I know it won't last long because the squirrels are out running around.

Rain has stopped here, I think for the rest of the day. My DH said that we have another maple tree that is starting to flow. Yay!!! Excited about that.

I'm 1 week away from my honeybees arriving, first time honeybee owners. Can't wait to get them and install them in our hives.... another chapter in our lives has begun!!

I was thinking about that egg turner without a motor, I wonder if you could use some type of mechanical mechanism to do it. Similar to those clocks with the balls that spin at the bottom, winds up a spring and then spins back the other way.... all day and night long. Any mechanical engineers on here that can design one for us?
