Hi All!

CS...can you tunnel in from the other side to find the end? Snake a camera down there? They could disrupt enough dirt to bury themselves!

Pepper took the kids to the brooder box tonight.... a much better idea I think. The one of the eggs the turkey had "hatched"... kinda....maybe. I think it was pipping and she decided to "help". There was a full size chick and no shell. I was very wet and weak and it looked like a little yolk was there. When I checked later it was dead. Don't know if or when the other eggs will hatch, she stole them at different times.

She's been broody for MONTHS!!!

Can't find either one of my Guinea hens for a few days. DH says they may have gone to the neighbors, I think they're setting somewhere.

Each Mama has a baby. One Buff Orpington x White Leghorn and One full Buff Orpington. There's still one more egg that hasn't hatched yet and one that was empty.

Sorry I needed to share with someone before I exploded from excitement!

good morning,, looks like it will be a nice day , for most of it anyway,,

Last night , just before complete darkness, I did a quick trowel of the slab, and then brushed it.
It was so dark I did it by feel rather than sight,, I checked it this morning and it looks real nice.

I decided to combine the next two pours into one big one.. then I will be done with it once and for all..

I have 4 more guineas from the long drawn out hatch.. It almost feels like a magic clutch of eggs.
they keep coming and coming ..

I got a call from the guy who bought 2 clucks from me last week.. he wants 2 more dozen fertile eggs.
the two hens are sitting tight .. now his BIL has a couple of clucks who need eggs..

it is good that they are still sitting tight, but it sure shot the theory that they would quit clucking when moved to a new home ..

I would like to take pictures of the sidewalk project, but my memory card is full.. I guess I should delete a few old pictures .. maybe buy a new card,, maybe do both..

cuppa is drained.. time to go feed the masses ..

cs, I agree on covering the holes. Hubby wont let menkeep the buns outside this year because of all of the little holes. So we take them out periodically. And I now have the girls in two big dog kennelsnin the barn. At least the get a lot of room to move around.
Notnmuch new here. The turkeys finally hached a bunch of their own eggs. The chicks are growing big still busy with t-ball. And preparing for fair.

Cuties: There hasn't been any aggression towards the chicks at all. It's all hen fights-and the chicks scatter and hide. Noone has seem to go after the chicks when the hens are fighting either. But I do have a ton of places for the chicks to hide and various hurdles/roadblocks.

Delish: This is my first time having chicks with this Roo "Peekachu." It was pretty funny when one fight broke out and all the chicks ran under him-he was all but up on tip toes looking down going WTH are these? Then I heard him lean over and do a treat call. The BLRW hen from you-when another hen came after her, she just put her head down and let them peck at her :-(

Terri, how is vaca?
Angiebubs, is it just a little squabbling to keep other hens away from the chicks? My broodies do thet all the time. This way when they leave the chicks, they (the chicks) are still given a wide girth by the rest of the flock. Is it possible that's what is happening? No blood or chases lasting longer than a few seconds?
Jim, the side walk done yet? Then you can run to town for a cuppa and new memory card so we can see pics.

Jim, head into Wausau and get a memory card reader, it will plug into a USB port on the computer and allow you to download all your pics. Or, plug your camera directly into the computer and download the pics that way. When you have downloaded all the pictures off the card, have the camera erase all images on the card ( check the camera menu for this ). No need to purchase a new memory card.

I found out that the missing boater in Lake Winneconne is a guy I used to work with at the cheese plant. He was a really nice guy.
