I had to make a run to F&F for two new hinges..the old ones were worn and sloppy.

had a very nice visit with Terri and dh today. Ofncoarsenhe shows up when we were almost done

the kiddos helped pull from the wagon. They did a bit of work along with a lot of argument! Lol
Even tho I was never ever getting any, we somehow came home with three guinae (sp) keets.
hopefully a visit from Zeek tomorrow

Nothing new here. Had a few nasty thunder boomers last night that were entirely too close for comfort, but no damage. Kitties all went scrambling for cover, though. Another exciting day of weeding lined up for tomorrow. Sweet dreams, all!

Going to my sister's house in a bit to celebrate my nephew's birthday. So I leave you all with his cake ( I cut out the eyes, my sis did the rest).

waiting to see what kind of weather we are going to have.
cool and cloudy, it could rain..
I haven't seen/heard any weather reports..

I set 48 chicken eggs last night..
there is a cluck sitting in the lean to pen..
I think she has taken over that guinea's nest ..

this is a terrible cuppa I made.. too weak..

our copper plumbing is worn out.. keeps springing pin hole leaks..
have a plummer friend coming to change out ALL of the water lines to PEC ..

In the past two weeks, we have patched 3 pinhole leaks..
TG for that blue pipe wrap tape.. as long as the leak is where you can get at it..

Morning all.
Nothing but cold, clouds and rain here. A wee bit chilly for my taste of summer but it's gonna warm up again tomorrow. Might have to bake something this morning to warm up the house, as I have absolutely NO intention of starting the wood stove. Gonna wait til winter for that.

Yesterday was nice out, got a few things done again. The cloud cover and the slight breeze made working outside actually nice. So we took care of all the duckies, started burning some wood pieces and scrap laying all over the place from varies projects and he started cleaning some of his stuff under the car port (he didn't make it as far in as the garage, bummer). That's a once or twice a year thing to do as we have a hard time getting through to just about anything by then he only cleans up after himself at work, so he is endlessly looking for this or that since he just drops it wherever. So his hammer stapler is still out in the bushes somewhere. Lol

We started putting the whiner (brat's dog) outside in the kennel at nights as he simply won't shut up at all anymore ever since the last time the brat was here. Since then he constantly whines if he don't get what he wants. Too bad! We wanna (and need) to get some sleep so out he goes as last resort. Oh what sweet dreams can be had this way!

Gonna bake something (blueberry muffins?) and then grab everything to head to town again for the next couple of days where there will be silence and relaxation waiting for me. No point to go to stores as we have barely enough money left til next week to put gas in the tanks. Oh well, we will work it out somehow. Then on Saturday the swap and maybe selling some birds for I can pay back my debt and make it home again. Lol

Nothing else new here besides rain and cold. Later...

Jim, after this horrible winter we had several pipes bust on us so we're planning in replacing them with PEC (sitting outside) too. Maybe this year I will get water back in my kitchen... Getting it in jugs from the bathroom gets old...

Weeding day today....... yes CS, those front flower beds WILL get finished today. Then all I need is a truckload of mulch.......

Those cupcakes looked cute, but twinkies taste terrible! I thought I would gag on mine...... I remember what they tasted like when I was a kid; before they decided to wreck the formula..... and on top of that, my nephew wanted carrot cake, so they were carrot cake cupcakes. Not a combo I would recommend.

Ok, better get moving. I have cupcakes to bake myself....... for somebody's big 4-0 birthday.......

well the rain did hold off and the sun actually came out..

I hand mixed 3 bags of concrete and poured the sill.. I am waiting for it to firm up a bit before I do the final shaping ..

had no breakfast yet, just a bad cuppa..
those cupcakes sound might good to me right now..

anyhow this is the sill..
I had to shut the door because the chickens seem to like the feel of cold wet concrete between their toes..

this was a job that was on my bucket list for many years..
it feels really good to finally have it crossed off..

next I have to make a door stop all the way around the door, then some weather stripping and we should be set for next winter..

although I am thinking of not wintering any chickens over , this year..

I wonder what it feels like to not have to go outside in the cold and feed and water birds ?
now, that will be on my bucket list ..

Wildsam, carrying water sucks, no matter from where or how far ..

do you know how many men it takes to carry water for house use ??
None,, that's women's work ..
