Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good evening all.

Congrats on the pups and plucker Jim. Gus is the dad right?

Congrats to all hunters, sharing is welcomed ;)

Theo is recovering well from surgery and they discovered he had a dislocated kneecap in the process. He is walking gingerly on it but it is still painful.

Delisha we also purchased straw ($5) for wind block and Theo rearranged everything that Nathan set up for him! one of the three orps that you gave me is looking old and ragged. She will be on the chopping block with a few others in the near future.

When I have a broody I will be looking for Rhode Island, Sussex, Lav orp...eggs only.

We drove to Viroqua for An all gluten and dairy free turkey day and stopped at Carr valley, from ignition, and national mustard museum for yummy treats!

Oh no! Does he get them from shaking his head? THen you only have to open it and drain the blood? I would think that wouldnt be too big of a deal to do yourself...$350 WOW! What kind of dog is this?

Here is the link to the gluten free pie crust recipe for those that wanted it. I only wanted to type out the actual pie recipe once cause it is pretty involved (but SOOOO worth it!) SO you can find that recipe on this site too. Well, I guess I will just provide that link too...I had another piece of the pie today and it was STILL crispy and flaky! I really cannot believe it.

There you go! IF anyone needs/wants the methods for other pies (after you read the recipe you will understand why) just shoot me a message and I will get you the recipe!

Have a great night! TerriO

Hi All!

Glad you got that plucker done Jim!

Ear hemotomas grrrr! Had a couple of dogs that got them. It's not hard to drain them yourself, just messy. As they get older the more they seem to get.

DH brought home 5# of red potatoes and a pound of bacon, looks like I make German Potato Salad. I just got the potatoes boiled now to finish up.

Nothing new here..... Night All!

TO, I'm going to try to suck it out with a needle and syringe first. If there's not a clot, that may take care of it.
Cindlady, he is a Golden Retriever. Apparently, its very common for them and labs. I haven't seen him shake his head. There's no infection or ear mites. Last time he had an infection, so I'm sure thats what caused it. The vet gave me medicine to treat it. It didn't help at all. I got some Zymox and it cleared it right up. If anyone has dog with yeast or bacterial ear infections I would highly recommend Zymox.

Yvette my cocker has yeast infection in her ears and treated with eatOtic and not sure it's helping. The dog has been nothing but issues since I bought her and oh the vet bills. She's such a nice dog though. I'm sure she lived in bad conditions before I bought her as she chewed at her paws and after checking them found pooh and other crap matted into the hair. Got it all cleaned out and treated in the infection. Just a mess. Good Luck with your dog, had to do that on our shepard mix a few years ago, not that hard and saves alot on vet bills.

good Packer Sunday morning,
having a cuppa and wondering what to do .. Plucker project is all done,,
In my head I am thinking about building another one.. there is a way of making the wooden frame without any metal fasteners. sort of Quaker style.. I have it half built in my head already,,

started setting a mouse trap at the bottom of the basement stairs,, averaging 1 per day,, 4 so far.

for you cat people,, honestly, do you still have mice in the house ?

our cat does not know what a mouse is for..

Yes, Gus is the father of the puppies..
One of the males died during the night,, they do that sometimes.. Dora lost one last year also..

......jiminwisc..........

We no longer habe mice in the house. But out of 8 cats, only two are good hunters! Lol we will find out about our kittens from Zeek soon enough. But I have a feeling they will be. Their mom is. And they were raised in the garage/outdoors.
sorry to hear about the pup.
Our long eared dogs get the yeast infection at times. We buy a drying agent and mix it with water. And if they swim or have a bath I flush their ears with a baby boogy sucker. Works wonders on keeping away those stinky ears :) it does not work on a already infected ear. But if you flush an infected ear and then wait a few hours before adding the medication it really seems to help things clear up.
All the other kids have gone home. Last one left last night. Today my kiddos are best of friends :)

Packer Afternoon All....hope they can pull off this important game. We need to keep even with the Lions.

Good job on the plucker Jim. That didn't take long at all to build.

I talked to Suzie's Uncle, and he had his meat birds processed at Pond Hill meats near Wittenburg...just a few miles down the road on hwy Q not far from Nueske's...he said they were $3 each and was very pleased with them.

GO PACK!
