I have agree with BCC not that I have any experience with that situation but it just seems logical to me. Bigz had a lull in the snowing/blowing and put the shifter back on. It works!!!!!!

Made 3 pushes and decided to get dressed for it about 3" here. Still blowing pretty good. Sat here this morning thinking about doing it and finally got off my butt and did it, had lots of bad thoughts going on. Made my day! Just like all of you! As TO said

Just a quick note; I just got off the phone with the secretary from the APA. The new 2010 addition will indeed be available the middle of FEBRUARY, I have one coming then!

The lil mule dun good! All plowed out again. The kids were so happy to get out and about. I picked up Buster, the more I hold him the better boy he is. Me too! Now he stands there waiting to be picked up.

Bigz you know it really bothers me to know there's a man out there without a tractor. That's just wrong! Wish we closer, would like to think I could figure out her malady. That's the problem I think too much.

22 weeks is point of lay, full feathered, pullets not chicks, if you put them out side suddenly, the trama is not going to be a good thing

It's ok. It's pretty confusing. Our house was built in 1883, and a portion of it was added on. The add on in the basement doesn't have any pipes running through it and it also doesn't receive any heat. Its a strange brick cellar type area that has a door and is closed off from the rest of the basement. It has a small window and that's about it. I use artificial lighting and UV bulbs to simulate sunlight. It's a bit hard to explain. As for the age only 3 of my chickens are 22 weeks old and those I am keeping. I have MANY different aged chickens that range from 5 weeks to 22 weeks. The ones I am trying to get rid of also vary in age and most are closer to 10 weeks old. I was just pointing out that my oldest chickens are only 22 weeks old, I wasn't saying they were all that age. I don't plan to get rid of all my chickens I just have certain ones that are just taking up space and I don't need them so I was offering to give them away. Either they can have a shot at living outside and possibly dying from the cold or they can stay here and get butchered and fed to my cats. I just figured I would try to find them homes before just culling them. They are perfectly good pullets but I just want to focus my time and money on certain breeds. I hope that helped explain and clear up any questions.

Ya know what, there's snow out there!

DH and I just got in from knocking all the snow off the run "roof"

stupid thing caved in on us the last bigger snow we got.

gave the birds some spagetti noodles. too funny! Mmmmm I smell meatloaf! I haven't made that in a while. IDK Y? probably been eating to much chicken. LOL! hmmm hamburger 2 days in a row. thats a record.

oh and I posted an add on CL, I'm looking for either a (or more) HUGE cooler or 2 couple large coolers. bet you can't guess why?

BTW is it spring yet? we're gonna go with Dels this summer for our "meat" birds

Goth it seems like you may have your chicks in a cistern? Our house was built sometime in the 1850-1880s and we have one too. Never thought to put chicks in there....hmmm. If I had a place to put them I would certainly take free hens! Usually I only get free roos...
So I went out to do chores and the drifts are up to my knees! I think we got about 6" or so here...cant wait to drive to work tonight! We are eating chili right now and DH didnt even make it too hot for me

I am amazed! It is very good and warm...
I found a nice plan for a chicken coop thanks to Mags! I checked out that thread and I will have DH build me that one in spring! Yeah! A functioning coop! He cant build anything "by the seat of his pants" so it is good that there are detailed instructions! Me, I am just the opposite...but my coop will cost $5 in hardware and his will be $500!

Terri O) is a face, the O's are eyes and the dot is the nose! It's kinda like a "what?" face lol.

I don't have a whole lot to report, other than....Aurora sent me an e-mail wanting to set up an interview! Woohoo! I am sooo excitied!! Even though I feel like I have the job there (as I was "offered" it by the lab supervisor) I still don't want to take it for granted. So it's the small victories

My goal to be working by March 4th, may be coming true!
