Hello Everyone,

So all my extra chickens were picked up today. I made a deal with a guy from out of town. He took all 15 chickens for $3 each. I also let him have my tiny little silkie mix because his wife really like it so I told her she could just have it for free. I used the money to stock up on chicken feed and oyster shell as well as another feeder. I love when my chickens buy their own food.

Also I FINALLY got my first egg! It was from one of my Coturnix Quail hens. They are all 9 weeks old so it was about time one of them started laying. My chickens are still holding out though. I have three 22 week old Buff Orpingtons and four 20 week old EE hens that are still not laying. I haven't decided what to do with the quail egg yet. I don't know if I want to start up my big incubator for only a possible 7 eggs. LOL!

they have paintings (artist renderings) of the perfect bird, as they say there are no perfect birds, only goals toward the perfect bird, thats why no photos

Hubby is taking a nap as he worked 1am-9am this morning (I am keeping track on here from now on, just to be sure) and all I want to do is lay in bed
hit.gif
It's so painful for me to sit on the couch, but if I can lay out and straighten the small of my back better I feel so much better. That's ok, once DS wakes up I am waking hubby up and going to lay out in bed lol. He only needs to take a nap anyhows, if he sleeps a full 8 hours he will be all screwed up. I have to force him to only take naps so his sleeping schedule isn't messed up.

Tomorrow I am having a "girl day" with my friend, she is coming over with sushi for lunch, and bringing movies and we are going to do manicures. I feel so bad for her as she just developed a lactose intolerance out of no where
sad.png
No cheese for her, god...I wouldn't know how to live life! I am going to show her some info on Kefir grains, they are said to help reduce some lactose intolerance. I figure hey why not? Even if she can't drink it straight, would be nice to be able to cook with milk again (I remember cooking mashed potatoes for a lactose intolerant friend...no butter, no milk. Talk about sucky mashed taters!)

I am kinda nervous to call the interview people back at Aurora. I don't want to mess it up! I am trying to figure out when I will be at clinicals this coming up week, so I can figure out a date. Maybe they will wait to do an interview until I'm up at Sheboygan again? Which will be about 3 weeks. Yikes.

Looking longingly at my Johnny's seed catalog again. I figure if I hear good things from Aurora I am going to order that lettuce I wanted! lol. It's the small victories. Still deciding on the garden. What things I am keeping what things i'm not. Where I am planting (as I didn't think of this at all, and planted all nightshade family stuff ALL over the place.) to have a good rotation. I really want to say no on the pepper plants ( sweet bells) this year, because I never have good luck with them. I have good luck with hot peppers, but not the bells. But then I also want to go "well maybe I am doing this wrong....or maybe I got the wrong variety..." who knows, I've been buying transplants from stein's maybe they are diseased when I get them? I want to try some cubanelle peppers, the sweet long red ones. I use them a lot in mexican cooking. I hate wanting to plant an 1/2 acre but only have so many sq ft

I guess I just never realized how much variety we eat as far as produce and how MUCH produce we eat. I'll figure it out.

Afternoon All... Today is a special day for someone we all Know and Love.

I really hope you have a great day!
Thanks for the help with the standard of perfection BCC. We had a utility pole that needed replaced on our road today so the power was out for a couple of hours.
I replaced the seal on the wood boilers door as long as we had no fire started because of the power off.
I'm with you Raiquee. I don't know how I could live without cheese. We go through alot of sharp cheddar, pepperjack and some provolone.
raimnel...I would like a couple bash shirts for sure! My size is XL if I quit eating from now til June...Can't be the beer can it? Gotta be all the big meals during Winter I'm thinkin.
One of my friends asked me how I can live without a cell phone? I told him it's easy...

Bigz) No it can't be the beer!

Beer is slimming!

So another quick update I found out one of my fellow students also has an interview up at my hospital that I have my interview at!!! I am so mad!
he.gif
I know I shouldn't be, as jobs are any ones game but it's like really? The place you are doing clinicals at don't want you?!
barnie.gif
So, although I wish the best for her, I hope they pick me instead. I hope having done my rotation there they will give me the leg up...but I am also pregnant. Although you can't technically descriminate against that, whos to say they won't?
sad.png
I hate HR.

Thanks Bigz for the Birthday wishes.

And tell Suzie Thank you for the card. Very nice.

All is well here for the most part. Broke my coop door yesterday because of a frost issue I am having under the door jam. Now it doesn't close tight and I have to lock it with a chain.....And today, I broke my heated water bowl I was using for the duckies. (NOT on purpose) Good thing I only paid $.25 for it AND I have 2 other ones as back up. But life goes on.

. My sibs and husbands and wives, DH and myself took my 81 year old mother out to eat last weekend. I asked her what she would like for her birthday and she said " a good piece of meat"
lau.gif
Well we all had a good laugh with that one. When she realized what she said " I really stepped in that one"
ya.gif
She still has it. DH still hasn't had any action on the job search
he.gif
He is getting a lot done around here so there is a good side. My pantry is almost done

Started to put things in and it's beautiful.

Good Morning All! And Ditto on the B'day wishes fm! Glad your checkin once in a while. Bigz I was thinking that the other day. Gonna need a baby on board shirt soon if the weather doesn't turn around soon so I can go burn some of this off. DA forgot to say that I hope your back comes around quickly most of us know that pain. GC glad you found a home for your overflow. SJ that's how it works. No time with a job, no money for projects without one. Hope someone will bring that APA book to the Bash would like to peruse it. Did a quick search yesterday maybe look a little harder today. Raimnel put me down for an xl pocket T pm me if you need the cash in advance. If you are serious about doing it. Need to take the water softener apart it's leaking around the top of the tank. Hope it's just an O ring. Keep warm!

Found a standards site this morning think Buster is ribbon quality. He's so handsome!

Also got 5 eggs first thing today that's early. Some of the wyandotte eggs are extra large but most would be mediums. Talked to good neighbor Donny the other day he's having a hard time finding feeder pigs locally he's thinkin of getting some larger ones and finishing them out. Would prefer he raised them as he does such a great job. When I go over there I always tell him that, that pig or cow doesn't look well and that we should put it down to put it out of it's misery.

Surprisingly the kids came out this morning. Think the slw's don't mind the weather as much.
