Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I'll have chicks going g into lockdown tomorrow too. ET will be doing it alone ! Guess we'll see how he manages. I'm going to Madison after all. He wants me to go......hmm lol. Wish he could come with but way to much going on here. He's still cooking syrup too.
So is Evansville in Jefferson Co?
That's were to two Does are at. They'll be sleeping in the Truck Sunday night cause they aren't going to be home for pickup on Monday on my way home.

Concerning my chicks. My backyard flock is going to be replenished nicely. Here is the email from my craiglist hatch of 15.

"Great job Angie. That is exciting. And I'm so happy that you wrote me to tell me. I love hearing about my chicken's successful progeny.

I have 2 roosters. One is a White Rock, and the other is a White Rock Brahma (that's where you get the feathered feet).
I have a huge assortment of hens - some of which I am still not quite sure what they are. Here is the list of what I do know:
Araucana (from the green or blue eggs), Barred Rock, Brown Leghorn (those were the white eggs), Black Australorp,
I have 2 chicken breeds that I am not certain of because they were given to me by someone who didn't know what they were: but based on research I think one must be a Bardevelder hen, and the other a Partridge Rock.
And then I have some hens that my chickens have hatched, so they are mixed breeds including bloodlines that I mentioned above, but also some Buff Orpington, Brahma, Rhode Island Red, and White Rock.

So you can see that you have quite a mixed lot, with lots of variety in their genes. The 2 roosters are white though, so they tend to throw alot of white babies. I just got another rooster this week, who is a beautifully colored Araucana, so it will now be fun to see what he turns out.

Thanks again for letting me know. Have fun!

Emily"
-All chicks healthy and growing.
-Jim, you should make sure you have hatcher space before you set eggs.

Lol.

I got my jointer all back together and mounted back onto it's stand,, I made an adjustment knob out of oak and it works as good as the original one did.. here it is.. ...
I'm so sorry Jim... But all I got from your post was "mounted in the back" and something about your knob... Seriously cackling right now!!!

He sure is determined!!!!

BigZ, the stuff I have is white, the stuff I have seen at Fleet is reddish brown.

It is so nice to have the windows open.........

THe DE that I got from my feed mill is pure white. We took it for a while too...didnt see much difference in anything.
The people came, tested, asked a lot of questions and left. I am supposed to be contacted by the state. Results should be in the lab by tomorrow--wonder how long until I know anything? Right now the farm is quarantined; nothing in and nothing out--including eggs. I guess all I have to say is that we will be eating a whole bunch of eggs! I am ready for this to be done...I just hope that 15 years of developing my "really cool muskovys" hasnt been in vain!

I think I need to go to sleep! NIghties-TerriO

Evansville is in the northwest corner of Rock County.

Hi All!

TO... Hoping the best! BTW.... what kind of Bio-security did the testers use?

Jim... Nice knob.

That description of symptoms sounds like things we have all had at one time or another in our flocks.

Nothing new here (yet).... Night all!
