Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Looks like a big job! Well done.

I could not have done it without the help of my two Dave's.
bro and bro in law..

scheduling the work to happen when everybody was gone
and then lining up one or two of the Daves at that time was the most challenging part.

We used shark bite fittings throughout. since everything was going to be exposed, I wanted it to look straight and orderly.. and it does,, mostly .

I still have the option of putting in a suspended ceiling to cover everything.
I am not in too big of a hurry to start another project right now..
I like to do my projects in the summer time,, even if they are inside projects .
even with inside projects, there is sometimes lots of prep work that is best done outside.

this whole project cost just less than $200.oo.
I could have made it less expensive with crimp fittings.

my two Daves preferred the shark bites.. gotta make the inexpensive helpers happy.
all in all they saved me much more than what the project could have costed
but now I am obligated to them for the rest of my life.

Oh BRRRRRR! That air is icy and stingy! I'm hunkering down for the night - no fish fry is worth this much cold. The sun helped keep water in the barn from freezing too solidly today but tonight will be different.

Stay warm and safe!

Hi All!

Yes, I bet my birds are grateful that almost the whole south wall of the coop is windows! It does make a difference.

Nothing new... Night all!

Thanks BigZ...I sure do love those Brahmas. Keeping my fingers crossed that they are healthy but I'm seeing some signs of the MS in them. Won't know for sure till I have them tested this spring.

Nice update on the water lines Jim. You are right that the PEX has a mind of it's own making it hard to work with. We used it for the in-floor heat in the shop, house and garage and the only thing that seemed to help unroll it straight was to attach the spool to a swivel (we used a boat seat swivel) and unroll it like fishing line off a spool.

I used it in my infloor heat in the sunporch. there I used the 1/2" . we had no trouble with it at all,,

I think that how the rolls are stored before we buy them has a lot to do with the uncoiling problem.. I am thinking that if they were stored in a warm storeroom, they "set" as they are coiled..

our longest piece was only about 8 feet. now come on, really, you shouldn't have any trouble making that straight, but we fought with every piece, right down to the shortest pieces..

we bent it straight by poking it through the hole in the top of the step ladder, and bending it about every 6 inches.
it would get fairly straight, and then we could watch it try to go back to it's original curve..

I suppose some heat would have helped, but I read that a heat gun is not recommended ..
