Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Well today Im headed SE of Wausau to pick up some more SF pullets and a SF bantam cockerel to add to my conglomeration. Also stopping by Marshfield to pick up chicks for 2 dif friends. Seen on CL someone by Stanley has some layers for sale and I want to get about a dozen of those as Im sick of buying eggs and I dont' eat eggs from my breeders usually. If anyone has anything interesting for sale on my way hollar at me as I'll check posts periodically on my stops. I still need a few more Black Aust pullets/hens for my group, would also like another Iowa Blue cock/roo, a few LF Cochin pullets/hens, that's all I can think of at the moment.

My wife's sister is coming into town today from Richland Center for a funeral. Guess her rooster bit the dust. We're giving her our rooster and maybe 1 or 2 hens to thin out our herd. I think my coop would be more comfortable with 10 or so birds instead of the 13 we have now. Legally I'm not supposed to even have chickens in my town (Mount Pleasant) with only 1 acre, but the town said if nobody complains they won't hassle us. The neighbors have not complained about our rooster crowing, but you never know,I'd hate to get rid of ALL the birds if somebody did complain!

good morning,

I just came in from watering the birds and taking the trash out to the road.

I brought in 5 eggs already..

yesterday I dug out a 5 gal waterer and cleaned it up..
wouldn't you know it ? I grabbed the one with no plug and it had a crack in the tray.. well, hell, I already washed it all up. so I went and stole a plug from a different one, and I dabbed some gorilla glue on the crack.. all is well once again..

If given enough time to cure, you can use gorilla glue to plug a water leak in a pipe.
I wonder if the gorilla tape would do it ?

just for fun, I started Ollie and hauled the dumpster to the road in the bucket.. then I back dragged the driveway with the new snow on it.

If I was to use Gatorade for electrolyte, what kind of dosage would I mix ?
X amount of Gatorade to X amount of water ?

Robin know, but she won't respond to my post.
I must have P'sd her off.

I would venture to say that the neighbors who complain about chickens have nothing against chickens.. it would be something they had against you, in most cases. ..

Nobody complained. All our neighbors like us,the neighborhood pretty much revolves around our house. We're the house with all the kids, cars, animals, action, ect. We are also the ones others turn to if they need help with something. BUT to be fair,a lot of people don't like crowing at 4 or 5 AM,so the rooster hits the road today.

I usually have a rooster or two.. maybe I am immune, but I usually don't even notice when they crow.. and if they are in a closed coop , one would have to really be listening for it to hear it..
It might be a little different in warm weather, but if anybody complains about a rooster crowing in the winter, they are just itching for an argument.. IMHO...

Before we ate the roosters we had the only person who complained behind my back was the one neighbor with a barking dog......

Afternoon to everyone. Yep, so true b4k about neighbors that aren't aware of the noise they make. I don't have any close neighbors here, but I know good neighbors get along no matter what the other does, for the most part.

Nothing new here today.

Windy here today. Today is my dad's 73rd B'day. I made him a pineapple upside down cake.

Our small dog has gotten out of the fenced yard twice this week (she is fixed), so she's now on a lead while out doing her business. Chickens have slowed down in laying again, I'm only getting 2. Bearded dragon is going in an out of hibernation.

Other than that, same ole', same ole'......night all!
