Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

That is terrible babylady. I thought they had to have a response in the timeframe you set...they do have until midnight. When I bought this house last year, they didn't get back to me until 11pm

Anyone near the Green Bay area know where a friend of mine can buy stewing chicken?

Last time I saw a frozen package in the store, it was $13. I am not ready to give up on my layers yet, or I would sell him a couple. New babies are coming in a couple of days, then they have to grow up, probably freeload for the winter, then lay eggs. At that point, I can get rid of my old girls.

good morning,
taking advantage of the lull before the storm.
going to be a busy hectic day here ..
wyo, i have 5 roosters I will let go for
"make and offer". I also have 8 hens left.
$5.oo/ea some of them are laying, I don't know which ones.
I don't care what anybody does with any of them. use them for eggs, eat them, whatever

If someone takes them all, I will give them a heck of a deal..

Thanks for the responses on the chicken feed. My farm and fleet is on some kind of match thing with other stores and are now carrying lots more variety for feed (thank goodness!)
So I'm going to switch to all flock feed after I get the first egg and put oyster shell out free choice (high enough to keep bedding out)
Been busy here...discovered we have beans! Lots of cukes and cherry tomatoes are starting to ripen...slowly.
Got rabbits yesterday. Been busting my hump for 2 days straight to build the hutch and still not totally done, but should finish today.
I have all new Zealand's, 2 bucks (1 white, 1 chinchilla colored) 3 does (2 white, 1 broken)
Will still be on the lookout for a black nz doe about 4-5 Mo's old.
Can't get goats until we get more land. So, so sad. But I'm gonna try to find a mentor in my area so I really know what I'm getting into.
The Roo's are starting to pester my hens...they haven't quite figured out the breeding thing yet, but I think that's a sign we'll have eggs soon.
BTW...5 dozen eggs in the store are only $1.70 right now. Lowest price I've ever seen. Costs me $12 a week to feed my chickens that aren't even laying yet! Good thing they're fun to watch!

Hi All,
I just crossed off one of my doit projects.
reupholstered the ripped end of the couch.
had enough material to do the other end so I did. now both ends look the same,.
two good things came because of this project.
my small compressor bit the dust yesterday.
so I went and retrieved my "pumpkin" compressor. haven't used it for a few years.
I oiled it and reset the capacitor. now it works fine again.

our beans are ready for picking,
hint hint GG.
they will be really ready tomorrow. and from then on..

Busy day here, finishing unloading truck full of mulch after teaching. Running a kid home and lunch to another one and then back out to finish mowing and weed eating if I can get it started. Moved the camper to the back of the property. Sure wish someone would buy it. Somewhere in all that I need to make corn fritters, take a shower and clean off the poop board. Not in that order.
Beans would be awesome.
Tomorrow.

good afternoon.
nephew Jake and his friend showed up after 4PM.
they are almost finished installing the windows.
I caused them a little extra work by not getting the opening correct.
our company from Iowa showed up at 6pM
didn't stay long. went right to the fair grounds to catch the show.. Lover Boy ..

our new bed was delivered at 4 PM.
I tried it out. it is adjustable so we can sit right up to read or watch TV.
what a life we lead, go to bed with a handful of remotes to make ourselves even more lazy.

we took the window AC 's out. they are not going back into the new windows.
good thing we are approaching a cold spell of weather.

I was going to watch the boys work, but I got too close and found myself sawing 1x5 boards for them.. I must have done it right because they didn't complain..

Jim, you just can't stay away from the work, can you?
Those roosters sound pretty tasty, only my friend needs the stewing hens for the weekend and doesn't have any time to clean a bunch of birds.

Tempting though.

Made more fridge pickles today. Sliced up about 25 cups or so of cucumbers. I have one friend that just loves them and I give her a huge (restaurant size) jar every year. Getting about half a dozen eggs a day. The goats have eaten most of the hosta flowers this year and a good amount of the leaves. They are now working on the burning bushes. They also seem to love dahlia. I have had poison ivy going on a month or so now. I avoid it just as much as I can because it is sooooo hard to get rid of for me. I need to pick beans again tomorrow too. Not getting near as many this year as the weather was lousy during germination and then the goats ate a lot of the plants before I could get the fence up. I will be up to my neck in sauce soon. Tomatoes are starting to ripen. But, I am going to sign off and make some cinnamon rolls for morning. Night all.
