He even argues when you agree with him..LOL when his argument gets weak, he gets angry and nasty..

how long has your hen been laying eggs? they usually lay about a dozen before they go MIA

I got the first egg in the bator.. It is sort of smallish.... usually the first ones do not hatch.. but what the heck, the bator is running already, eh?

I just had a guy stop here for a dozen of eggs.. He is the last person that I would have expected,, this guy has been riding me about how much I charge other people for eggs.. says they are cheaper in the store and stuff like that.. I told him that these were worth more and that he should buy his from the store if he felt that way.. He has money coming out of his A$$.. I wonder what changed his mind..?? He sent somebody else in for the eggs.. he stayed in the car...LOL

shes been MIA for 3 days or so, don't know if she laying for sure, all the pines i have she could be under them, did it to me last year, but she started laying last year 3rd week of feb, and with the 50 degrees we had ??? tom and her been have in fun fer a couple weeks now,

well then.,, let's hope she is hiding somewhere and not in the belly of a fox..

nice photos.. the egg on the right in the bottom photo looks like an ee for sure.. do you have americauna?

Nope I only have the breeds listed in my signature. So my EEs are the only ones that would lay blue or green eggs. I'm wondering if the brown egg is from one of my Buff Orpingtons or my BCMs hen. I think it's too dark to be an Orp egg though.

You disappointed me Gothchick...when I saw the first 4 eggs in a square, then the same 4 eggs in a diamond I thought for sure in the next pic they would be arranged in a circle....but NO! You only gave me two pics....

Unfortunately she must have figured out that I knew where she was laying 'cause now she is putting them somewhere else! So I really hope these hatch! Otherwise I will be buying them from one of you...I only have one hen!

So I hope this guy isnt stalking you and follows you back here...so do the mods check up on the state threads too to see if everyone is "playing nice?" Man--I would sure hate to have that job!
Well--gotta check that incubator again...prolly time for some more water. Cant wait to see the pics of FMs new babies!
Sweet dreams! Terri O

Hi all. Had a good day of doing nothing. Going to buy some Silver laced and MF cochin eggs tomorrow. I'm so eggcited!! I've been wanting these for awhile and with all you guys talking about hatching and showing me pictures of chicks, how could I not buy them. DH isn't thrilled though, he keeps telling me that if I get all the chickens I want, he will have to build another coop.

I don't see a problem with that.

I'm also thinking about selling a couple of my blk girls and my one blk boy. Anyone interested?
Go FM!! Go Chickies!! Congrats Goth for the first eggs. Isn't it so fun, makes all that hard work worth it.
Ok later tators.

Carol- the place in NG- why could you not have other animals? All of NG is zones agricultural except for downtown. Would also be nice to have a friendly neighbor!
Good luck with the move.

Hi All- I have gotten busy again so lost track of saying hi. So much going on lately on this board, hard to catch up. Waiting for 2 babies tomorrow or next day coming in. I was hoping for a BLRW, but Meyer, who we ordered through is currently out of them. Bummer. Really wanted a Wyandotte and I love the look of those blues.
Well I have an EE and a BO coming so that will be a new mix. May be looking for some more come fall when we plan to cull some of our older ones. We have 3 that are a year to 2 years currently and then we have 2 from a fall brood and now these 2.

Never done the brooder before so that will be new for me with the little ones. We got 6 week old chicks and up last time. My kids are so excited for these little ones. Otherwise... trying to plan my veggie garden and start some seeds in the basement. Need to "ladnscape" around the coop now that it is fully in. Thinking kale and colored cabbage that the girls can snack on later in the season. Astilbes for the shade side.

Anyone have their adenoids out as an adult? I think I am going to need the surgery... my tonsils are already gone, but Dr felt that either my adenoids never were taken out or grew back. Might be causing my major sinus issues. I am on sinus infection #3 for this winter and had 5 last winter. Other issues too but that is the biggest pain.

Enjoy the nice sunny day!

The "hippie's" were turning the 49 acre place (its up for sale and no I can't afford it) back into prairie land, they were going to have some hogs in the barn to raise up for food... and only wanted about a dozen chickens..
So why move 13 miles from NG, have a barn on the place, have the land owners have chickens and hogs, but they won't let me build a paddock for my horses and my chickens....
Not worth it.
ON another note, talking to my BO (barn owner) she mentioned to her friend who is also friends with the owner of the place we are going to look at tomorrow night... they might have another place with some acreage and a barn that may be up for rent, it will need some repairs and work but nothing overly much.
So if nothing else I might be able to keep the chickens at the first house these folks have for rent, and just board my horses!
My two buff brahma bantams, are at the barn in the QT stall, for two weeks, they have been at the house for 2 weeks, so it will be a month total.

Carol

Congrats Goth, first eggs!! And it never gets old, even day after day.

kristip, I had my tonsils and adenoids out at teh same time when I was 23. They told me adding the adenoids didn't make the surgery worse...still it was no fun.

I bet just having the adenoids out woulnd't be nearly so bad. I say go for it, I had terrible sinus trouble until they came out (tonsils were growing, not shrinking, yikes!)

Go FM go, go FM go!
