Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Beautiful Late Summer day here today. Don't know if you could order a nicer day than the one we are enjoying today.
The gardens are giving up their harvest and we are feasting on plenty of fresh stuff daily. Dug my first hill of red potatoes yesterday and the yield was amazing with extra large, large, and medium spuds all in one hill....no small ones at all in that first hill....couple hundred lbs to dig yet....all the rain was good for the spuds here.
Chickens all laying like crazy and I'm able to keep everyone supplied with eggs.
Nothing else new here, but I'm itching to go fishin soon.

Stay Safe....bigz

good sunday afternoon,
great day here, too.
I was to Menard's and home again.
bought a nice pair of knee pads.
I have some in the shed somewhere. this is
how I end up with duplicates of everything.
Monday I am delivering a boy poppy to Cadot. He will be living in Staples Minn.
Tuesday someone (Gary, Brent)is coming here for one. IDK if it will be a boy or girl puppy.
Wed morning I am putting a girl puppy on a Delta flight to way western Oregon.

after that I will have to count the plumbing to figure out what I have left.

sold two more hens yesterday. tried to talk the people into taking the ones I knew were laying. Nope, they wanted the black one and the pretty brown toned one.
we have 3 hens left, got an egg already this morning.

I have GS Kalib lined up for Wed to pour a little cement.
going to do it in sections.
easier on me since it looks like I will be the sole finisher.

Don't know if you can pick up 92.3 fm North of Wausau Jim, but Gary's show is on Sunday nights from 7pm to 11pm.... he plays really oldie moldies , prolly 40's and 50's era I'd guess and quite fun to listen to. I listen to it during Winter when I'm in the basement a lot of the time. He is a hoot!

Okay, you all probably think I am crazy anyway, so say hello to the newest member of our family, Bonzo. 20170813_010451.jpg

that's a good pet to have with chickens..

well, the trip on Monday is cancelled .
the guy backed out. claims car trouble.
I think it was more like his wife saying we need other things more than a dog.
or he might have been one of those people who string you along to the very last second. I have dealt with that kind before.
I even told Annie to not hold her breath, just yet.
the down payment never arrived..

kind of glad we don't have to make the drive to Cadot. SIL told me today that 29 west is one lane both ways. resurfacing the other lane..

9 more pints of dills, another bag of beans in the freezer and 65 cups of tomatoes started on their way to becoming spaghetti sauce. Plus I have harvested 7 WalMart bags full of shiitake in the last 3 days. Going to start on pickled beets soon.

good sunday evening,
it looks like this site is dying ,.
I have seen it slow before, but never this slow.
Daethen, looks like you are going to be all set for next winter.
Annie decided we have enough beans in our freezer so we are going to give all the rest away to whomever wants to pick them.
GG has picked a few, but can't keep up.
Maybe she needs to bring along a bigger picking crew ???

I think I will have more time to chat after the first frost :th of course by that point football will be in full swing so not really. First row of tomatoes is going, second starting to turn, third is still green. Finally have some summer squash too but since only the yellow plants seem to have survived I guess that will not make it to sale. Gave 3 pullet eggs to the neighbor with the 3 little kids, they got a kick out of that.
