Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I made the decision last winter.
I told Annie, I will not have any chickens next winter.
It took until now to dump about 40 birds.
a couple here a few there.
finally had only 3 hens and 2 of them are laying every day.
I will be buying eggs when our supply in
the fridge runs out.

I did not know actually owning poultry was a criteria for membership here. I better leave too then.......

Jim, you know you enjoy hanging out here. Love reading about all you do. I know we all do not comment, but we do read your posts.

welll, seeing as I still have a pair of geese and 4 guinea roosters, I guess I can stay..

I got an email from Oregon, the puppy has arrived safe and sound and is sitting in the lap of luxury ..
They named her NOVA .. it is the first dog that his wife has ever owned..
their 14 month old daughter is deeelighted
and I am relieved..

let me tell you, after getting up at 3 AM and dealing with Delta , 2 50 mile round trips to the airport, getting a little trash hauled back to the burn pile and finally having a glass of wine and crawling into bed at 10:30, I slept very well..

Good morning! Sounds like Nova will have a good life out in Oregon. I won't be getting much done outside today. It looks like rain again. I do plan on gettingmy first planting of corn in the freezer in the next couple of days. Have a good one!

Well, had a bit of a scare with Bonzo yesterday. He didn't want to eat yesterday morning. Skunks can become diabetic easily and will have seizures if they don't keep up their blood sugar. Got ahold of the experts and got him straightened out. He was loaded with round worms! Got wormer into him and he bounced right back this morning.

Send some rain this way, we got missed yesterday. :(

Picked the garden down yesterday and sent it all home with some friends. They will appreciate it and I don't have to process it. Made the first 13 quarts of spaghetti sauce and I think I have enough tomatoes ripe to make another. Gotta buy some more spices first though.

My daughter's best friends family now have chickens and goats. The kids saw ours and begged. They are doing great with them though.

With goats and chickens, they need a LGD. Have them call Jim! lol

I had friends that had a couple of skunks as pets. Not sure I see the attraction, but good luck with him. Is he going to live inside, or does he have an outside pen? They kept theirs in the basement.
