Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I got an early start while it was still cool out.
I took the cement mixer apart.
checked things as I went.
it came down to a tight armature in the motor. . a few light taps with the hammer loosened it up.
put everything back together and it works.
all I have to do is put the motor back onto the mixer and we are in the concrete business..

it looks like we might be down to our l

OK, let's try this again.
yesterday was nightmare internet around here.
got bumped offline, couldn't get back online for hours.. Verizon came and straightened everything out. it is working now, I hope it continues.

I have the mixer all back together and running. today I am going to run about a half dozen bags to see how it goes.

looks like a long sleeved shirt day.

Good crisp morning everyone!
Hey Jim, is this font too small for you? Please let me know. I had to change my normal size because Kikisgirls (thank you again!!!) figured out why I couldn't do bookmarks. Just an FYI for anyone else with the "no bookmark button on the bottom of posts" problem, it might be you have to go below 110% on your sizing in your browser settings if you are running Chrome on a laptop. I actually like the new format/features, especially now that they, and us, are getting the last of the kinks figured out.

Been a busy summer for us senior chicken folks up here, painting, fixing, building, tearing down, etc. and raising the new littles, but besides a bit of "tweaking" to be done to the new coop addition interior, all the building, repairing and painting is complete. That is, except that we actually have a bit of time left before the snow flies, the DH has come up with a few new projects. Ok dear, they're all yours. I have gardens to begin shutting down, apples to harvest and turn into applesauce etc. and a field full of trees to prune (my area of training and expertise). Several things that should have been done last year didn't because I was still healing from my accident and playing catchup on things I couldn't do from the wheelchair so this year was a lot of double time but we're finally getting caught up!!!

Anyway, welcome to any new folks I missed, congrats on any new critters and sincere condolences on any losses.

It feels like fall up here this morning! Yea!!! My favorite time of the year. Had to run to town yesterday for Amprol for the littles (caught it super early so all should be good) and noticed that many of the hardwoods are a bit less green and a few are even showing color. After this crazy spring and summer I have a feeling this year's fall and winter might be interesting up here. After all the work, chaos and family losses this year, I'll be ready soon for a nice long hybernation.

Now it's off to get that last gate latch fixed and the "adjustment" to the new divider wall in the coop built. (I really need to stop standing in the coop and coming up with "better" ideas). Have a great day everyone!

what brand of gingersnaps? I hate soft ones

Wild Harvest.. Organic cookies.
perfect for dunking in hot coffee.

honey and peanut butter sandwich recipe:
put the PB on your bread nice and thick.
dribble honey over the PB,
mix the two together with your knife.
this keeps the honey from dripping off the bread when you are eating it.

Chickisoup, the font size is good for me. thank you..

we are having a day from hell with our computer service. I couldn't get back on until after 4 PM. they changed the modem. at first it didn't seem to help, but now, so far, it seems to be working OK. :fl

I poured a 2 ft x 7 ft test slab.
just to make sure the mixer was indeed fixed, and also to see if I could do it by myself. the slab was calculated to take 6 bags of crete. it took 9.
other than that things went well..

........jiminwisc.......:thumbsup .
