@jvls1942 What would you charge for one of your feeders? I'm still waiting on DH to make one for me - he says he plans to. But he has been saying that for over a year now. He is actually cleaning up his shop, so maybe things will start getting done in there.

It doesn't cost much for material to make one.
just a plastic 5 gal pail, and a 3 gal feed pan from Fleet/Farm . and a piece of 2x6 for a spacer under the pail. and a half dozen screws..
something to cut 1 1/4" holes in the pail.
and just a half hour out of your life span.

after I get this shed done, I will put one together and send photos.

I got my window sill made and set in place.
I want to paint it before fastening it in ..

I have an old can of paint that I need to mix up before using it. I wonder if Menard's would shake it up for me ?

this is the end view of the window sill I made. I outlined it with black marker.
the sill is 6ft - 4 inches long.

I have it notched and set in place, but I want to paint all surfaces of it before I install it permanently .

Fish Fry Friday again already...where did the week go?
Good job on the building project Jim.....I checked it out, before I window peeked! My egg numbers have dropped now with the shorter days.....that's ok, the hens need a rest after all the good eggs they have laid for months. They will be happy with all the treats they are given in the off season. Five to eight year old birds are common here....they are welcome here, till whenever they decide to go...feed is cheap for chickens.

Stay Safe.... bigz

good evening,
had baked fish for supper.
I got the sill all painted and set into the window openings.
I used some waterproof paint that we used in the bathroom a few years ago
it covers in just one coat. not water soluble .
in fact, I could not wash the paint out of the brush.. the brush is in a plastic bag in the freezer for now.
I will toss it after I get all the rest of the window frame pieces painted.

Good morning!
Nice job on the window opening, Jim.
It is a bit chilly here this morning. I hope we do no get a killing frost overnight. I'd like to let the sweet potatoes grow for a while yet.
Not much happening here, otherwise.
Have a great day.

ahhh . there is life out there..
I was beginning to wonder if everybody left..

It is cool here today. I have just a couple of window frame pieces to cut out and then I can paint all of them before installing them.

I think Tuesday I will try to dig all the rest of the potatoes.

today is watch the Packers beat the ViQueens day.
