The world has gone mad..... I made chocolate chip cookies and neither of my sons will touch them (and no I did not burn them)......

I love that I have the option to work from home..... since the roads here were icy this morning I spent the day working at my dining room table watching the birds visit the feeders on the deck. The cats were happy I was here as well, they managed to squeeze in plenty of lap time.

Company Christmas party on Friday night..... need to get the hubs a sports coat so he can be presentable.

Anyone else's chickens starting to look a little sickly in this cold. Mine have some pale combs and are getting thin. I picked up a flock block and have been giving them suet. Going to search out some straw today and fill the coop house to provide some warmth.

I had to bring my (almost) 8 year old Lavender Orpington into the house on Thursday, bathe her and let her dry in my woodstove room for 8 hours. She's now in the heated room in the shed. I also have 2 call duck hens in there that were shaking from the cold. I think next year I'll cut down to few enough chickens that they can all be in heated areas. I need to get rid of about 30 to do that. It's hard to choose who goes though.

One of the reasons I will probably always have some Sagitta chickens in my flock. They are a nice heavy bodied bird.
There was only one egg in the nest box yesterday, so I hope to get three eggs today. Out of 6 chickens, that's not so good... but better than nothing.

I noticed that the Sagitta aren't listed at Sunnyside? I was thinking of trying some of those for the fun of it.
Picked up my venzun summer sausage and snack stiks from Kropfs yesterday....Deeeelicious!

Hi, just sittin' here waiting for winter to come back..
I looked up Sagittas and found them listed at Sunnyside.. then I went to Sunnyside and they were not listed in their catalog. strange.

might have to give Sunnyside a call to find out the real story..

Brent, anything that tastes as good as your sausages can't be good for your health.
maybe you should send it here so you won't be tempted to eat it..

Fish Fry Friday Again...where did the week go? Tonight is baked haddock with Cajun fries.

Cute pups as always Jim.... I sent Sunnyside a email yesterday....I wonder how long it will take for a answer from them....could call them, but they do have a email too, and it was right in front of me.

I contacted them a couple of times, they were very prompt . usually the next day.

usually within a day. very nice people.

cold here again. it won't be long before the temps begin to rise.

at least we don't have much snow to worry about just yet..
