I planted my garden.....

What all did you plant?

Heirloom tomatoes, habanero peppers, chili peppers, and jalapeños. One nasturtium too.

I have black walnut trees surrounding my house, so I have to container garden.

I remember reading that your new place has all the black walnut trees. The squirrels are trying to spread the black walnut trees throughout our place, too.

besides the 3 black walnuts I planted near our house, I planted 100 of them in a grove,
straight rows and straight diagonal rows.
makes for easy mowing.
those trees killed a whole row of my apple trees, an oak tree, a butternut tree and a 50 foot long row of asparagus and the few blueberry bushes, and two cherry trees..
the jack pines are not affected and neither are the blackberries.
blackcap raspberries grow right around the trunks of the nut trees.
today I hope to finish painting the AC frame and get it mounted to the house.
maybe even get the AC installed, we will see how it goes; if the paint dries in time.

If if can still buy some tomato plants, I might put a half dozen in 5 gal buckets.
DD Barby is still making noises like she wants to plant corn. IDK. I am not going to take care of it. she claims that she and her friend will do all the work.. I know how that goes..
I will work up the soil in the garden for them, but that ends my part of it..

Correct Jim, they are great at killing just about everything. I knew the blackcaps would survive so I have been looking for them (they are my favorite berry anyway). I do have a few peonies that have survived, not sure why.... iris will grow, and roses. I need to work out how to get paid for the lumber and how long it will take for the toxin to neutralize in the soil. Too much $ to have the whole property topped off with fresh topsoil....

They do make the yard beautiful and very park-like; until the nuts begin the fall of course.
