Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

yes, not much grows under those trees.
there are still plenty of weed like plants that do , and some grasses..
all of our black caps are volunteers.
the birds probably brought the seeds here.

Annie picked our first batch of strawberries from the plants we set last year. nothing better than fresh warm strawberries..

If you ever do decide to cut the nut trees down, shop around for a veneer factory..
If you happen to have a log fit for veneer, it is worth thousands $$$..
I have been pruning mine off and on over the years to eliminate lower branches. all of my trees are at least 12 feet up to the first branch..
when my parents lived in Illinois, there were a few instances where someone came through and cut down some black walnuts from people's front yards.
just stole the trunks and left the tops.

good rainy morning,
I ran the AC for 15 minutes just before I went to bed. then I turned it off and was good for the night.
Annie picked a pint of strawberries. the first ones from the plants we put in last summer.
now that the AC is done. I can go back to sorting tools and cleaning the shop.
I might even find time to mow some lawn.

good morning,
did not need the AC last night. all the rain we had kept things cool..
However, it took me until after 5AM to get to sleep. I found out that if I have a Big Mac for lunch and then go to the Red Eye brewery and have one of their bacon cheese hamburgers. it is way too much meat for one day.. the beer was great..
that is a great shot of a mirror smooth lake.
Dr Ha Ha (Joe) is in Canada, fishing.
I hope he finds a lake like that.
