Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

i worked in the garage again today.
now when we do a little bit, it shows.
I was going to take pictures, but the picture card fell out of the camera somewhere out there. I will get a new card and take pictures.
If I really push it, I just might get Ollie into the garage tomorrow.
I am about out of shelf space. but there is not much left to put onto the shelves.
All I have left to do is go through a large cooler full of stuff. It is so heavy I can't even slide it.
we emptied the apartment sized freezer.
DD said she would take it. I told her it is for free, but for every day that goes by while I am storing it, the price goes up a dollar per day..Annie gave her 24 hours to pick it up. then it goes onto craigslist..

Cleaned up the remainder of the mess from butchering today. Put the table away, sprayed down the cement patio, washed up the scalding kettle...... chickens are in the fridge tenderizing......

Changed the water in the goose pool and moved the pool to a level location; the ladies were happy with clean water and better depth, they were bathing almost right away.

Picked up some pumpkins today too. We have a local farm stand that grows some amazing varieties of pumpkins. No carving here though.

A miserable rainy, cold, windy night here. Making flank steak with fingerling potatoes and some peppers and onions. Topping mine off with some blue cheese too.

we are having roasted chicken for supper.
as long as I had to carry a dozen chickens through the kitchen on the way to the freezer downstairs, one somehow got left in the kitchen.
it sure smells good all over in the house right now.

bl4, do you have just hen geese or is one of them a guy ?

I bought a pair of Toulouse once. kept them for two years. they did all the lovey dovey things, but I never got an egg. Finally we butchered them and that's when we found out they were both males..
after the geese are mature, the goose will have a more pronounced rudder. the gander will have a flatish stomach.
after that swimming pool falls apart, go to Menard's and get a mud mixing tub. Mine are about ten years old. In the winter I filled it and the geese would splash all but about 3 inches of water out of it. I let it freeze and the next day I just flipped the tub upside down and the ice cube would fall right out.
Remember, in the winter the water in the tub is warmer than the air. so the geese do not get cold by taking a bath.. In fact, they do not even get wet to the skin..

Busy in the woods today for almost 5 hours..looks like the pile grew about 6 cords of ash.....I still have more wood to cut than I can handle....little by little now after a big day in the woods. I don't want to over do it. :hmm

this is my collection of old saws.
No, I never used any of them.
We salvaged them out of Annie's grandpa's barn when they tore it down.
for comparison, the pegboard is 6 feet wide. and 5 feet tall.

Nice pics of the saws Jim. I have a meat saw exactly like yours....I use mine all the time for store bought cuts that need some attention to save money...whole pork butts turn into steaks and roasts easy.
Nice Packer win...let's keep the winning going!

@jvls1942 That is a cool collection! Thanks for posting the picture. Is this on the wall in your garage?

yup, that is the front wall. I could build a lot of shelves there, but for the time being it will be just pegboard.
I use the meat saw occasionally, and that hack saw I used today..
Annie added a peg and now there is a broom hanging there. I imagine over time more pegs will be added.
I am not a big fan of peg board.
too many things get hung on one peg and whatever I need is the farthest one in.
