Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Brent,I made it home without breaking any eggs.. when I got about as far as Ringle Annie called me and said that Dave had called.. he does not have any eggs tested for fertility yet.. I have to call him back..

I was going to tell you how many chicks are in the bator, but there are so many running around, I cannot get a count.. there were 19 of them at 7PM Sat.. that was about 36% then..

Annarie- He is very excited about them. He really wants some Roens (Spelling?) and he really really wants some Welsh Harlequins. Any experience with either of those? He already has buyers lined up for eggs, so he has done a good job so far. I cannot believe how much more low key they are than certain types of chickens. Very gentle and very fun to watch.

Glad everyone had a good time at Fondy....we were going to go, but decided on a spring cleaning day instead

Had we known there were going to be that many ducks there I would have taken the boy....oh well. What about Beaver Dam? Will there be ducks available there? That is a heck of a ride though....might actually be cheaper just ordering some....

Was debating taking the test to become a tester...anyone done it?

And the hatching and brooding is going well. The other day I see that not only does the snow make Peatwo walk like a marching Nazi but so does wet ground.

no, its mail order in a few places, plus you need to be certified to use it, also this last bottle was $110 bucks, the only reason i got it yesterday was he had it and I want to take birds to beaver dam I can start testing today if i want, or I mail order it from Culter. a little cheaper. is there anyone that is certified that might need some we are allowed to share now

depends on which ones, bobs and cortnix are very good to eat, the eggs are great specially pickled, and if you have the pen close to your house the song they sing is beautiful

Coolio! Have too look into that! I'd imagine they are pretty much the same as taking care of chickens - eh? Have to do some searching on them. I know a place around here where I can pick-up 100 babies for under 30 bucks....

where? i have a fellow that want bobs but as adults, so I told him I'd raise some because they are so fun to raise, I'd rather get babies than eggs right now.

Sunday Morning All.... Thanks for the info about dave's eggs Jim. It will be awhile for them then. Glad you made it home safely.
raimnel...yep it's the same Dave...This early in the spring it's common to have less fertility in the egg numbers. I don't think your numbers sound bad at all.

DA...they just had a certification class at fox valley tec college in appleton. Don't know if the latest class has happened yet or not....might want to check it out if you are thinking about doing it.

Nice new name sweetfolly and nice avitar tomski....not use to all these changes.

Later.... ~ bigzio
