Darn straight we did! Back home after a lovely weekend in Savannah and Tybee Island Georgia. I highly recommend a visit; if you like to drive it is very scenic. If I ever go back I am flying for sure as I am certain the flight is less than the 16+ hour drive.

Spent a lovely weekend with my kids. It is a lot of fun to hang out with your kids when they are adults.

Way off the wall question here: does anyone know if chickens will eat Sweet Fern or if it is safe for chickens to be around it?

For some reason my mind has decided that I need to plant sweet fern in an area that will eventually be a huge pasture area (1.6 acres) for chickens to roam in. Since it is a low growing shrub and I love the smell of it, I am wondering if it would be a good plant to have around chickens - for shade or even cover to hide in possibly.

Here is a site that describes sweet fern:

If grouse and prairie chickens can eat them, then it should not be a problem for chickens. They know what they like and avoid toxic plants in my experience.
Good Luck with them.
More severe storms here today....time for some nicer weather here.

Stay Safe...bigz

I have tomorrow off, yay! And the weather is supposed to be nice. Will be a nice change from the last couple of days. 2 tornados in the area in the last 2 days is pretty wild. DH banged my greenhouse back together after the big storm 2 weeks ago and it held up to these last storms very well.

@Raeja The bash is usually the weekend after Memorial day - I think. It was cancelled this year and last because of Covid. It is nice to see you back on BYC. Glad things are going well for you - sorry about the loss of your chickens
