Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good morning,
I just want to let you know what I learned.
It is critical to set the valves correctly on a Briggs engine.
in searching through the web I ran across several opinions. finally I found my old briggs repair manual. it said to set both valves at .oo4". That did it.
no more kick back and it starts and runs.
now that I have both motors running, I can get back to taking care of my grape vines. Annie keeps telling me that they are going crazy.

Busy with the garden harvest every day now. I'm putting alot of larder away for future consumption. It's nice to see all the produce after all the hours of work.
Some molting has started here. Egg numbers are good, but down from the past couple of months.

Stay Safe .... bigz

today I got the tiller all put back together and tuned up.
all in all I am only one tiny screw short. not bad.
ETA
lolol, one screw short. sounds like I am not quite with it.
today I pruned the grape vines.
still training them onto the trellises
have one bunch of grapes on one of the new vines.
the birds will probably eat them before they get ripe.
.

Prolly set up corn stand 2 or 3 days, been picking first crop. Smaller crop. Lots ants this year, kinda early for so much ant damage.
Been picking pears, lots pears this year.
I had tons of ants a few years back.
after I got my guineas, the ants were gone.
yesterday we tried cooking corn in the air fryer. It turned out really good.

If anyone is in need of a rooster for their flock, I should have one in about 5-6 weeks. Mix barnyard breed, no clue on parents as my hen was a surrogate. PM if interested. I am in Western WI-20 min from MN and 60 from Eau Claire and just a hair north

Rainy day on Saturday. I fiddled with a few carburetors in the house.
I learned that the float hinge pin from a new style carb will fit in my old carb.
Now I can put the old carb back onto the lawn mower. I do not like the new style carbs. too much plastic.
they seem to plug up too easily.

today I put the final touches on the lawn mower engine. I took the "new" carb off and put the old carb back on.
NO more surging and the idle is set.
air cleaner back on and have the battery charging back up to full.
Next I will use the tractor and raise the read end of the lawn mower. then I can put the inner tube into the tire.
I am taking a break from the heat for a little while , first.
