Pictures don’t do it Justice….. it is not as dark in person, you can see the grain patterns very well. It would have been difficult to try and get the wood back to natural, as it had been stained a darker color to begin with. All I did was even out the color. I do prefer to see the wood grain myself.

I’ve done many other pieces in the past; one dresser I refinished had 30+ coats of paint…. And had 1/4” mahogany veneer that was unbelievable. I really enjoy restoring and refinishing furniture, it is so much fun to see what hides under years of bad design choices…..

Once stained hard to get out. I know what you mean. I redid some birch kitchen cabinets once, 35 years ago. Could not get the stain out, but lightened them some. then I think I used poly on them, been so long. they turned out really nice. I surprised myself.

I will prolly have to spray house tomorrow gonna be decent weather this week, well till rain comes looks like. Getting to see quite a few lady bugs. Clean out my back pack sprayer. Had some round up in it. I see. some Japanese knotweed needs spraying.

Japanese knotweed darn hard to get rid of.

The frost killed the rest of the plants. Today has been absolutely gorgeous. Except we had to take a dog into the humane society he keeps running in our yard everyday and his owners wont do anything about it. He was also not taken care of.

I have not noticed any Asian beetles at all this year.
we have lots of wild turkeys roaming the grounds.
maybe they are keeping them down ?
during last winter we had some in the house
now and again, Annie killed them whenever she
spotted them. Usually at night on the TV screen in
the bedroom. she kept a fly swatter by the bed. lol
I have to change the bait in the squirrel traps.
they walk right past the peanut butter.
why stoop to peanut butter when they have all
the black walnuts they can handle ? lol

Barn really getting coated with asian beetles, Imagine the they will eventually freeze and die. Chickens will have a field day.
They are bad this year.

We dont have a lot yet ive seen maybe 3, but they usally get bad around the end of october here.
