yah depressing not -20 below wind blowing, ears turning red from the cold, car starting slow. 6 inches snow every other day, tons of road salt spread to destroy the cars we drive.

joking aside we could see a dry spring though, el nino suppose to stick around till summer last i read.

I actually do like it. we are not plagued with mud. not the ankle deep kind, anyhow
everything between the house and garage is packed down red granite..
basically the whole back yard is red granite.
for my vote, it can stay like this for another month,, and then warm up..

I just read about that el nino thing too. Like after today which is rather windy and cold as heck, then we get 10 days of "balmy" weather! I was going to wait to have hatching eggs shipped to me, but now I think I'm going to just go ahead with it.

They would be coming from Pennsylvania which is 40s and 50s. The only bad thing though is we can't trust USPS to ship "as the crow flies." Antarctica is projecting -11 to -35 that week.

Just got attached by our rooster. I went out to check on eggs, and he came around the back of the coop, flew up and hit my right leg with his claws. I swung at him with a rake, fell back, and he ran at me, tried it again. What the hell do we do? I’m ready to end him.

That’s what we’re thinking. I think he’s jealous of me, since I feed the girls, water them etc. How will this affect the girls?

the girls will be glad he's gone.
there are plenty of good roosters out there.
I never put up with an ornery one.
after a while, they enjoy fighting with you.
fun for them, for you,,,,not so much.
